"I received the sort of legal help that gives lawyers a bad name. We sought counsel from Doug McClanahan after our home construction general contractor failed to pay the sub contractors, sticking us with ~80k in liens against our half built home. It was a really disappointing experience. After following his advice and taking steps toward a passive approach he outlined for us through the course of 3 months, we got absolutely nowhere and got stuck in an even worse position — at which point he said “I would be proactive about this.” This is after I kept suggesting we should probably be proactive…something he counseled against.
