"We stayed here while visiting Charlotte for the ACC Championship. We were met by a precious black/white kitty. He was so adorable and stole our hearts. The ladies at the front desk were knowledgeable, fun and welcoming. The lady that prepared our breakfast was a breath of fresh air. Basic breakfast hot and fresh. Bowls of fruit sat about the nook. The pool was warm, clean and inviting. Room was clean and the beds were restful. The exercise room was clean and neat. Great alternative to overpriced rooms in Charlotte for the game."
"My husband and I stayed at this property for 5 nights over Thanksgiving with our 2 children. I am very familiar with Marriott hotels and couldn't have been more disappointed in our experience... If your looking for a budget hotel then this hotel would work for you. However if your looking for the quality and service you would expect from a Marriott property... Look elsewhere. The hotel itself was clean despite a little bit of dust. The maintenance and upkeep was horrible. A lot of rusted doorframes and hinges with a slap of paint on top. Rusted towel racks. Duct tape covering tears in the carpet and duct tape on the trash cans. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom so there was mold on the ceiling and door frame. The room had a musky odor coming from the AC unit that no doubt just needs a good cleaning and filter replacement. The luggage carts were extremely dirty and in poor condition. The pool was heated which was nice.. but very small. And again with the trend of RUST covering the window frames and door frames. Guest laundry was one washer and dryer inside of what I can only call a closet. The PRO: washing and drying was free. CON: The machines were dirty. Breakfast was simple. What you would expect at a Fairfield. The breakfast attendant Barbara provided very friendly service and kept the buffet fully stocked and clean. The front desk staff were very unwelcoming and unprofessional. They did not acknowledge guests as they walked by. Most were sitting behind the desk on their phones or applying makeup in which you had to wait for them to finish to assist you. We requested service in the evening for the following day and then double checked the next morning at 7am to ensure our room would be cleaned. By 1pm we had not received service and when we chatted with the front desk they informed us that housekeeping leaves at 12pm and "as an fyi for next time to request service before 11am" after informing the front desk that we had requested service the night before and in the AM they ended the chat. This hotel COULD be great... Hire new staff or retrain the ones you have and hire a chief engineer and maintenance crew who have the knowledge to properly fix the issues. To say the least we will NEVER stay at this property again."
"This property was perfectly located for an event I was attending. The rooms are in pretty good shape, and pretty clean. I've been here twice lately, and despite being Lifetime Titanium Elite, I was not offered or given a room upgrade either time. And yes, I checked, and the App showed upgradable rooms available both times. Also I was put on a low floor next to the elevator despite high floor and as far from elevator as possible being in my profile. Why build a profile, when no one seems to read it anymore? If they give you a room near the elevator, my suggestion would be to refuse it go somewhere else. It is truly the loudest, most annoying elevator I have ever heard in a hotel, and it starts running nonstop before daylight."
"Only gave two stars for service. Five stars for extremely clean room and comfy bed, location is near tons of restaurants and shopping. Service scored low due to early morning call from the front desk asking us to move our truck in the parking lot due to tree trimming. Gosh, could they not have roped that section of the parking lot off or placed orange cones in those spots the evening before so people would know not to park there? I didn't appreciate the early call and having to get up and dressed and run out to the parking lot on a morning we had planned to sleep in due to the previous day's long trip. A few orange cones or yellow rope off tape could have avoided the whole problem."
