"Our food was excellent! We had the Beef on Weck and the Get Smashed. Cucumber salad was awesome. Unfortunately the service was absolutely awful. We arrived about 1:15 and the place was packed. Checked out the back patio just in case we needed to sit outside. We ordered and found a seat in the front part of the restaurant. The table of 6 beside us was just getting their food. They ate and left. When we noticed the people who had come in long after we ordered and sat down at the same table, then got their food I went to the cashier to inquire why we had not received our food. She had our ticket, but could not give us an explanation of why we were still waiting for our food even though people who came in after we were seated were eating. By the time we finished eating we were the only people left in the restaurant. Not one other person except staff was there."
"We were first-timers today. The muffaletta was very delicious, I just wish there had been more of that yummy olive salad on it. The tallow fries were great, too. The beef on weck was tender, yummy, and fresh, but WAY too small for the high price! The cucumber salad was also very fresh but seemed to have virtually no seasoning. It was good once we added salt and pepper. Sadly, I can not give the service high marks because we had none. Although the staff was friendly, we had to order at the counter, pick up at the counter, serve our own drinks, and get our own condiments, napkins, and plasticware. For a high-priced bistro that asks for a tip upfront, we were very disappointed. In spite of the tasty food, from now on we will probably eat anywhere BUT The Kitchen Sink."
"Loved the food!! I got the beef on weck and my girl got the Nashville hot chicken. Both were so incredible. Also, you have to try the soup flight! The soups were beyond delicious and you get to try 4 of them. Additionally, the service was excellent and the atmosphere of the building is that old but new feel. Loved it all and will be back!"
"I have traveled to a lot of places and have been blessed to dine at some amazing restaurants. With that being said... Wilmington, NC area restaurants are setting the bar high for great places to eat. One rule of thumb is to embrace the holistic experience of a restaurant by walking around and viewing the decor. The Kitchen Sink is one of the great places to dine at. They have great decor, great staff and an amazing atmosphere. The Shrimp and Grits (Which were off the chain) had a great spicy kick to wake you up for the day...HELLO! My wife ordered Guava Monte Cristo and loved it. If you are visiting Wilmington, NC make sure to visit The Kitchen Sink and enjoy a good dining experience!!!! Let me know if you think The Kitchen Sink is a great place to dine. I will see you there!!!"
"Six of us ate here for lunch after a local walking tour in the area. It's a great soup and sandwich shop (and salads too). You can order a bowl of soup or a flight of soup (four small bowls of different soups). I decided on the sweet and savory sandwich with a cup of mushroom bisque. It was one of the specials soups of the day. It was fantastic! One of my friends ordered The Goat and we split our sandwiches to share. I enjoyed both, but I think the Goat was my favorite. I liked the interior, especially the herb garden wall. And very friendly service. Prices are on the high end with the portions you get but the quality is there."
