"Visited today. Clean store. Friendly gentlemen working. I agree with others. Clothing is terribly overpriced. Most men’s shirts were $14.99 and up. A shirt with tags that had clearly come from Nordstrom rack and was roughly $35 there was $32.99. Prices were really out of line."
"I understand your stock answer for every review that is critical of your pricing. However, I too, like a lot of other people, have been thrifting before it was "cool" . Pricing is ridiculous. Near or more than retail. I am not needy but there are a lot of your customers who are needy or they would not be shopping there. Not everyone is reselling on ebay. I feel this is the reason for price increase. Old dollar store knick-knacks are not worth what is being asked."
"Who is setting pricing policy for all the KARM Stores? Do they believe the current administration telling us the economy is great? $10-18 for a used Men’s shirt. I can get new for that price at T J Maxx. I moved to Tennessee in 2020. I thought the KARM Stores were okay. Prices actually good. Someone in their management has lost their mind. Your prices are way out of the market. These stores should be in business to help all people. Place your prices reasonable. Do not recommend. You can send them a donation without wasting your time in the stores."
"Went to the newly opened KARM store. It's large and has a lot of various kinds of merchandise. I like a good thrift store and this place is not it. The prices are outrageous on almost everything. Looked at heavily used t-shirts and there $7.95. This place takes donated items and turns around and sells them for maximum profit. Very few items seemed reasonably priced. Same stuff at AMVETS just marked way up. If you want a good thrift store go to AMVETS. Better prices and a better cause. I don't reccomend KARM if your looking for a bargin."
"I checked out the new location (former Food City building) down the street along Hall Rd. Alcoa. It is very roomy, attractive and well organized. I enjoyed the visit, but will say that while I am a long time supporter of KARM I have seen a whopping increase in prices. I have also experienced numerous instances of their computer/cash register system going down to where they could take cash transactions only. Also visited a store location in Knoxville over the weekend. Saw Nautica beach chairs in obviously used and slightly damaged condition being sold for higher than retail prices! Same store had no ability to do other than cash transactions that day. I overheard employees and customers in numerous locations stating that the prices were overinflated and hurting the business. I would have to agree. I have stopped donating to KARM. I have cut way back on my spending in their stores. If I'm going to pay retail prices for my kids clothes I'll just go to a retail store. The old Safeway grocery store chain from decades ago priced themselves completely into bankruptcy. I hope KARM will moderate their pricing."
