Reviews
"Former graduate- amazing school and staff. It may be small, but it allows for students to focus more on classes and connect with teachers on a level not possible at bigger schools. Still friends with many of the people I went to school with years later."
"If you care for your children do not send them to this school. I would have given the school zero stars. The leadership lacks empathy and problem solving. My son is an IEP student who had a traumatic experienced with MLS. He was a transfer student from Evangel School due to the school closing. I never did my research instead chose this school as my nearest location. I had my son transferred last year from MLS due to bullying and racism he had experienced. When I noticed a change in his behavior I confronted him and asked what was going on and I brought it to administration (Principal and assistant Principal) at Martin Luther. They handle the situation poorly which caused my son emotional distress and to fall further into depression. I confronted and requested a meeting with the parents and student involved to mediate the situation and to better understand what caused friends to become enemies. My request was ignored and eventually transferred my son to another school. The bullying never stopped instead the group of friends that were against my son were plotting again to have the whole school against him. I have proof of text messages calling my son a monkey and telling him that he should die and even threats to my son not to come back to school. I immediately took actions to transfer my son schools. They gave me issues requesting my son transcripts and credits and until now I am still requesting for them to send my sons credits. My best advice you want your children to go to a Christian faith school choose another school not this one. They have poor leadership, poor curriculum and tuition is not worth it. They do not care for the students spiritual growth at all. I am still distraught about my son situation he transferred out in January 2023. The principal Mrs. Younghese, Mrs. Boyle and Mrs. Leecakes, shame on you for not acting on bullying and allowing racism to continue at the school. If I didn’t transfer my son things would’ve ended worse. I am still picking up the pieces alone and helping my son with therapy and to gain his confidence back. My son is traumatized and it’s hard for him to talk about the situation without him tearing up or having nightmares of the situation. Thank you Martin Luther for the damage you have cause to my son and to me. Until now I have not heard an apology instead you sweep things under the rug and did nothing to mediate the situation."
"I went there for middle school. Here’s the breakdown 1. Too much dating. 2. Too much pornography. (Verbal and digital) 3. Weird teachers (mainly high school teachers). 4. Lunch overpriced. 5. Small school 6. Expensive tuition 7. Below-average education (with their curriculum I only got a 400 on the SHSAT) But it has 1. Great atheletic program 2. Great clubs 3. Great events 4. Great college guidance Overall... This school is decent."
"I attended this school when it was a thriving high school. The only positive thing I could say about it is that it was one block from my home. I wish I went to public school or a large parochial high school which could have afforded me the variety in classes and opportunities MLHS lacked. I missed out on a deeper exposure to culture, arts, and music, my friends were partaking in at their high schools. Sadly, I attempted to play catch up in college. My tuition money could have been put to better use elsewhere. I have been back to the school, several times in recent years, and my opinion of the school remains the same."
"This school helped turn me into the person I am today. The teachers there are all so caring, and you really do get prepared for the real world. Most of the teachers push you to be a better student and to succeed. Some of the best memories of my life were made there and I miss it often."
