Reviews
"Improvement with the roaches. School has good curriculum and has some decent teachers, thats all the good things now for the problems. The new grading policy is just as retarded as a lot of the students, the school is rated lower then Brooklyn... like seriously Brooklyn due to the top school status being dropped. Some teachers don’t teach at all or teach very slow, i have a regular class and so does my friend, we had the same book and i was several chapters ahead. The school has little to no budget, they cant even afford equipment for some of their classes. There are way more problems but this is just the surface of the problems."
"This High School was the most diverse high school I went. There a people that graduated and went to Harvard, and there are people that became **** heads. You really had the opportunity to choose what ever you'll become. Shot out to Jaquan and Tenkella class of '04. High School sweet hearts!!!"
"The school is too big, it holds 3,500 students. so many students in the building, and classroom only creates a chaos. Security stuff are often in their cell phones texting, chatting among them, and not been aware of all the 22 doors the school has, from which more than 40% of the kids uses as access to cut school. I have to deal with few counselors, I have good reviews about few of them, in between them one that comes to my mind now is Mrs Glasel, very nice person, and very professional. but most of the counselors are not professional, and they can care less about the students. One that comes to my mind right now is Mrs. Parma, she is very rude, and unprofessional. Mr. Matori the principal is only a symbol of presence in the school, and getting pay, by all of our taxes. I had to deal with some kids who had criminal cases at family court attending the school, this fact never let me feel confident about the school. When I approached Mr. Matori to search for a solution never came up with a good attitude about having kids with criminal cases behind their back, also with the incompetency from his security stuff to maintain the kids inside the school, and the reality of what the school is going through. I think Cardozo High School, is only an illusion that doesn't exist anymore."
"Great high school! They gave many opportunities for extracurriculars and AP classes. It has good programs and many smart students. Many people say they don't like this school because they are not active and don't take part in school activities. But it's a really fun and good school. It can get VERY crowded but I think that's what makes it a more friendly atmosphere. In dozo, everyone is friends with each other, there are not many separate groups."
"great school with a high graduation rate and high college acceptance rate. people who think this is a "bad" school have never been to a "bad" school. people should be working to make this school stronger not criticizing it for its minor flaws. this school has helped Bayside real estate values for years and many students go on towards college & career success.strong students, involved parents & competent teachers= success! But the Bloomberg administration wants to target large high schools so that he can reopen them as charters so if Cardozo suddenly goes down in the next two years it is no accident - it is Bloomberg, again. Beware! Becareful what you say against a school it will be used against you in the Bloomberg's administration of public education."
