Reviews
"Decent place and food, but the service was awful and slow. We stayed at the hotel and had breakfast included, but they ended up charging us for over $100 for food without my authorization, this was on top of a bill that we already received and paid at the restaurant for ordering a couple things that were not included in the breakfast voucher. I would not have known if I did not check my credit card statement."
"A friend and I were staying at the Sofitel and decided to stop by Gaby downstairs for a drink. The bartender, David, was phenomenal!! Couldn't have asked for better service from him - he was congenial, funny, and of course made awesome drinks! We stayed til close just chatting, and we came back the next night as well and experienced the same great service. Wish we were local so we could come back, but we will be sure to visit again when we are back in the city! Thank you, David!"
"I love this place. It's perfect for a cute and quiet breakfast alone or with friends. I got the signature scrambled egg dish (pictured) with an individual french press. They bring around fresh pastries and bread. I also had a delicious croissant and delicious fresh orange juice."
"Good but not great. Sofitel usually has outstanding restaurants within their hotels. Gaby, however, is an exception. The Spanish style octopus was ok; the accoutrements were a nice addition but the octopus itself was less than memorable. Service was painfully slow and inattentive."
"The atmosphere is very modern which is nice. The Hostess was very courteous and inviting. But when we were greeted by the waiter he was taken back that we didn't have a voucher. He hesitated and so I told him we had something better it was called money. He then took our drink order. And showed my friend to the restroom. Where she returned she explained that the bathroom was down a hall past a gym and 3 flights up. Which means if you have to use the restroom make sure you wear your walking shoes. I provide pictures of the food. The bread basket was delicious. 3 types of bread. Olive, Pumpernickel and French. We ordered from the Brunch Menu. So we decided to each get a different item so we can try each others. The appetizers were good my favorite part was the Bacon Jam. So delicious. The Onion soup was surprisingly bland. I had to add salt. The entrees were okay. I wasn't really impressed. The potatoes that came with the steak and eggs were bland and I had asked for an over easy eggs and received fried sunnyside up. Even after asked how to make them. The Mimosas were delicious. Lastly, I have to say they make amazing coffee. I suggest at the end or with your meal you order a French press coffee. You I'll be glad you did."
