"The restaurant looks great from the outside, no reservation or waiting times are required, which is greatly appreciated. As soon as you walk through the door, the employees are very friendly and helpful, they assign you a table and you can see what to order. The food is very good, of course, the specialties and the strong point of this restaurant are French food, so I highly recommend ordering these dishes, although the portions are not usually so generous in this case, the flavor and presentation are something that is completely worth it; however, they also have other types of dishes such as seafood and hamburgers."
"So happy to have this restaurant in our neighborhood ! I am originally from France and felt like in France for an evening … and I was in New York ! We had the escargots, Foie gras, the day special : Halibut (reminded me so much the southern France cuisine), steak frites and fresh pasta for our daughter and it was EXCELLENT, absolutely DELICIOUS ! And the desserts did not disappoint… See photos. Special Thank you to Noah ! He took a great care of us ! We also met Camile, the assistant manager, very welcoming ! We will be back :)"
"Me and my girlfriend went to La Brasserie for restaurant week, and a sort of early Valentine’s Day meal. The restaurant week menu wasn’t the same as what we had seen online, but there were still things we could both try. The portions were a bit small, but the food was really good. My favorite was the beef roast over potatoes. May seem basic, but it was very rich with flavor. I’d be curious to come back and order off the full menu next time."
"The last time I was here it was still Les Halles. It largely retains the look and feel of the old place. As for the food, quite good: enjoyed the French onion, a lobster and shrimp sandwich (we were there during lunch), while my companions enjoyed Le cheeseburger and the day’s fish special, Le dorado…a Mediterranean fish in a wine reduction sauce. The profiteroles with chocolate sauce were good as a shared desert."
"We'd passed by this place a few times and meant to give it a try at some point and managed to go this week for lunch. It's in the space that Les Halles used to be and interestingly they even have a tribute item to Anthony Bourdain on the menu. Another interesting thing about it is that it's owned/run by Francis Staub of the iron cookware fame. Can't compare it to the previous restaurant as I never went, but the decor is lots of dark wood and very French looking, especially like the chandeliers which look like filament fuses. It was pleasantly quiet as it was practically empty when we went but expect it will get very loud when full. There were a few tables situated outdoors. We went for the burger and the pesto chicken sandwiches to start. Both were very good. Though it took ages for them to serve them for some unknown reason. Other than ourselves it there were just 2 other tables occupied, so that was odd. The desserts came much quicker though and we had all 3 listed on the menu. The Ile Flottante (meringue on a plate of creme anglais), Foret Noire (black forest gateau) and Tarte aux Pommes (apple tart). We weren't too impressed with the Foret Noire. But the other two desserts tasted great. The Ile Flottante won it though as it was light, fluffy and the flavoring was divine. I'd come back just for those 2 desserts. The service was attentive and filled our water glasses constantly. Overall, it gets the thumbs up and I'll be interested to try their Croque for brunch, hopefully it will be good."
