"Fantastic food and service. Highly recommend going to the pier after a delicious meal! To follow up on service: I felt that the staff was very helpful. They were helpful when we couldn't choose between two dishes. They took steps to ensure we were comfortable and they were especially kind. We hadn't even realized we had talked for 40 minutes after they had already closed! That's because they weren't making any attempt to rush us or tell us they were already closed. They were genuine and I really appreciated the kind service."
"Came here for a solo dinner on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t too crowded so got a table. Service was lovely but it did take a while to get my food, which was only shishito peppers and the French onion dumplings. I would not get the shishito peppers again (lacked flavor, no dipping sauce) but the French onion dumplings were delicious. It comes as a soup, which I might’ve missed on the menu, but it was so perfect in this cold weather. I ordered one of the mocktails and the waiter graciously gave it to me for free, which was nice. The manager came over and asked how I was doing, which was also a nice touch. Overall, the ambience and service are great, but I’ll have to come back and try more things, especially their dessert because the menu has so many options."
"We were looking forward to dining here but unfortunately the whole experience was underwhelming. The food is not well executed at all, the duck breast in particular has been sous vide which manages to set the duck fat and there is inadequate secondary cooking to render the fat let alone cook the meat. Duck breast should be pink, but this was bordering on raw. The soups were lacking flavor and unbalanced. The desserts unfortunately taste like they are somewhat old. The service is a huge let down which meant the whole experience was not great at all. It could have been a bad day for the team as other reviews appear to have had good experiences."
"had dinner with family at La Marchande. don't really eat often in the Financial District but it was attached to their hotel-- location location location! the restaurant serves a French menu with modern / non-French influences. there's a separate bar area as well as an ample-sized dining room. not overly fancy but not super casual, a nice balance between relaxed yet elevated restaurant vibe. the menu is very meat-centric. ordered the Hanger Steak w/ pinned frites (fries). the steak was prepared expertly at medium-rare with a shiso chimmichurri: flavorful, tender, and rich without feeling too heavy as the shiso helps lighten the steak a bit (highly recommend this entree). the frites/fries sadly were not good--overcooked (yet undercooked. paradox!) and way too salty / over-seasoned...also they are served with a ketchup-like substance...and in my world, it's Heinz or nothing! ha. anyway, if the fries are always made this way...i'd opt for something else as they weren't crispy enough, weren't served hot (just warm-ish) and were seasoned wrongly. we would have sent them back as we both had sides of fries, but the kitchen at La Marchande closes on the early side during the week like 8:30ish or so and tbh, it wasn't a big deal as the entrees were very good. though a French restaurant serving subpar fries (even in nyc) is a paradox of sorts. the service was attentive and friendly. though the Wall Street is not my typical locus for dining in the City, La Marchande is worth a stop if you want a brasserie experience downtown without too much fuss. Salut!"
"Exquisite experience. We especially enjoyed conversations with Cara + Andrew who helped deliver service with grace and excitement about each menu item that was offered. Other team members assistance on touching our table to help continue and deliver an exceptional service experience was very much appreciated + noticed. See food pictures with our notes. To us, each plate offered fresh sourced ingredients, intriguing flavor components throughout the dish no matter the plate, lastly we loved each dish plate up presentation. Beverage selections were paired to compliment each dish. Cheers-"
