Market Villas Apartments

"Been living here for roughly a year now & counting down the days till my lease ends. Was without a properly functioning oven for nearly 4 months, went back & forth with the former property manager to get this resolved— then Real Property Management took over the complex and things continued to get worse, markedly worse. The building has a serious issue with cockroaches & water damage— I have also heard from neighbors that there are issues with rodents. I have never personally had a rat in my unit but have observed rats crawling on the roof of the building from a window in my apartment. I hadn’t had issues with the roaches until about 2 months ago; I have found roaches on the floor before but this one takes the cake, two nights ago I found a cockroach in my bed so take what you want from that information. Not even trying to communicate the pest issue with property management because maintenance has no-showed FOUR of our previously scheduled appointments with them. I have had a leak in my roof for roughly two months now, this is still unresolved and I anticipate it will be for the remainder of our lease. Please don’t be fooled by the pictures— renters beware."

"I've lived here almost 3 years and since new management took over (early 2020), things have been great. I had a leak in my roof that took some time to repair, but Heather (the property manager) was always responsive and kept me updated about roof repairs, both temporary and permanent. Mina, who handles all the maintenance, is by far the best maintenance worker I've ever encountered at any apartment I've lived in. He's kind, professional, efficient, and very communicative. There are issues in the building typical of any apartment complex in an urban area--some noise at night/during the weekend (in the building and the neighborhood itself), some dirty hallways (though the building is cleaned each week), but nothing beyond what I'd consider standard for urban apartment living. The location of the complex can't be beat though... but parking in the area is awful, and the few parallel parking spots in the back of the building are certainly not enough for all MV residents. Pay monthly to park in a city lot--it's worth it. Overall, I've been very happy living here--I resigned my lease several times for a reason!"

"Tho alot of issues arise but there maintenance guy is top notch he just comes over and fix things half the time i would wonder like dang that was quick was it even broke lol but there service has evolved greatly from time to time"

"Management companies were playing hot potato with this building last year. After months, maintenance could never solve the leak in our walls when it rained due to structural issues related to the building being old and refurbished, so mold regularly built up in several places. Building was sold to new management company till they discovered the problem the first time it rained overnight, then it again got put up for sale to new management. Never got the mold or leaks fixed."

"I’ve had the pleasure of paying a deposit on apartment and then never hearing back from the staff despite multiple voicemails and emails sent over the last 2 weeks. Not only highly unprofessional but also illegal. I would give no stars, but that’s not an option."
