"New-10/12/2023 The community came against the new management Harbor Group Management by complaining to the county and sending a request for help to channel 7 news. Seven on your side had a story about what was going on. According to 7 on your side there were 13 complaints against Harbor Group Management and 30 citation for violating County codes. My experience with them, mainly the older maintenance workers, they blow you off like you are stupid or a 2 year old while smiling in your face like you don't know what time it is. It may not be life threatening problems but it's as if you don't deserve to live in an apartment free of stupid unnecessary problems. In the future if you need help you will be the last person on the list. Think twice about moving here. I was excited before I moved here to be in a community of people my age. Now I can’t wait to move. I have come in contact with a whole lot of nice, sweet, friendly people/seniors. But like every apartment complex there are those that all you can do is shake your head. The first thing, not a day or night goes by that the non-emergency police don't show up here. That means the neighbors are calling the police on each other. I have talked to the County housing office on how to deal with my issue and they don’t have jurisdiction over matters between tenants. So first you are to contact your management office and complain, which I have multiple times. I have not been here a year and it started a month after I moved in. Somebody, above me decided they were going to build stuff in the middle of the night. Anywhere from 1 to 6 am in the morning. Actually, whenever they want. Hammering, banging, thumping, and dropping stuff on the floor that makes my apartment vibrate. First I thought it was underneath me but lately it has gotten so loud you can tell where it is coming from. County law says none of that between the hours of 9pm to 7am. Management takes you through the motion as if they care and then just blow you off. You can send recordings of what's going on, at their request and there have been times when I have had my emails ignored along with recordings. At least the minimum response would be putting notices on people ‘s door reminding them of the document signed when you moved in stating no excessive noise. Then, your next move is calling the non-emergency police."
"We moved here 2 months ago to be with our kids it's been a very pleasant move !! Management is great there are activities for residents since it is a senior residence they have someone here to aid residents in getting assistance food stamps rent assistance medicaid etc there is a rooftop solarium and sun deck our maintenance requests are taken care of quickly there is a parking garage which is great because it's hard to find street parking we do have a Lil mouse but he's so cute we don't have the heart to kill i"
"The new supervisor of the service team, Sal and the staff, Patrick came to determine what could be done to satisfy my needs in the various maintenance requests early in the morning one day. Sal determined quickly what could be done and guided the Patrick to perform right there, and then completed what’s left few days later. Sal was eager to satisfy my needs and Patrick delivered in action. I was impressed with their professionalism and great workmanship! It’s comforting to know they are dependable."
"If I could give this place a negative 10 review I would. My father in law passed away and since we were out of town, it took us a few days to get there. The manager MICHAEL BROWN assured us no one was in the apt. However, when we got there all of his jewelry was missing along with several other items including cash. We knew for a fact it was there because he told us. Also, this Michael Brown guy assured my wife and I we would get the deposit back and low and behold, nothing. After several attempts to contact him, he finally sent me a text saying he would call back after the holidays. He has since ghosted us and I now have consulted an attorney. He even refuse to give me his mailing address to send a certified letter. If you value your loved ones, please stay away from the Charter House, Bucknell Apartments or any other facility that is managed by MICHAEL BROWN. During our initial face to face meeting, he exhibited all of the nervous "I don't want to get caught" signs. This may be speculation on my behalf. However, in my former profession I have interacted with lots of criminals and my instincts have rarely failed me. Lastly, his apt. was infested with roaches. It was utterly disgusting."
"Several years ago, the owners decided to renovate the lobby and the second-floor mezzanine. Our seniors recommended that, instead of spending money on the renovation, that they use their funds to restore the building's infrastructure. They did not listen to us. When they tore out the walls, we had mice and roaches we can't get rid of. Since they did not focus on the infrastructure, we still have mold, plumbing leaks, elevator breakdowns, water shutoffs, and, since they cancelled our security guards, problems with unknown individuals entering the building and sleeping in the lobby and stairwells. Many of the residents I know have moved out, and are continuing to do so. A month ago, a mouse crawled our of my apartment's bathtub drain. Several neighbors, and I, have said, that if we could, the owners would be forced to live under house arrest for six months, in the worst apartments in the building. I would never recommend that any civilized person reside here."
