Boathouse Apartments

"I have been here for 2 months and extended my stay. I have read the reviews and it freaked me out before I stayed here. But the staff here are great. The apartments were recently renovated and look gorgeous. Short term lease options are available. Huge shout out to Kaleab, Favin, Steven, and one of the other women at night. They made the move so easy and addressed any issues I had promptly."

He has been assisting me with every concern I have regarding my apartment. He has even helped me outside of his working hours; what a great person."

"This review is long overdue. The dishwasher never works and the washer dryer combo is trash but I could live with that. My apartment, however, was mold infested. According to DC law and my lease, a landlord must address a mold problem within 7 days of reporting and fix the problem within 30 days. When I first reported the problem, nothing was done for the first three weeks and the problem was not fixed until five weeks after my initial report. My kitchen was torn apart with all my shelves taken down and placed in the center of my already mini studio and a loud industrial dryer/blower placed behind my refrigerator, blocking the entrance to my apartment. The place was unlivable while they looked for the leak in my wall. I was not offered a courtesy accommodation during this period and was charged rent as usual. The surface area covered by the mold was so large that they had to cut out my walls as well as the wall on the outside corridor. With mold covering such a large area, DC law (as well as my lease) requires that a licensed DDOE professional investigate and remediate the situation but none was not invited in my case. When I requested a professional to check whether the mold was gone after being constantly worn out by allergies, they sent one of the janitors to do a moisture check. Until I left, there were still mold spores in the air in my apartment that gave me allergies and every time my sister spent more than an hour in my apartment, she left with allergies too. I had to buy a large air purifier which helped a lot, but pretty sure the apartment still has a mold problem. In sum, Boathouse as a landlord is insensitive to what should be urgent matters and I could overlook everything else but certainly not this. Asides this, like everyone has said, the Concierge is staffed by some nice folks, washer/dryer combo is not ideal and I eventually gave up on requesting maintenance to fix my dishwasher after about 5 maintenance visits telling me that jet dry was the answer to a broken dishwasher. I would say this accommodation is decent for students and short term occupancy. If you are looking for a place to live longer than 4 months, don’t stop here, keep looking. And oh, maintenance will enter your apartment as they please, without discretion and without notice."

"All staffs welcomed me with kind and polite attitude. When I had trouble, they responded quickly anytime. The apartment itself is also amazing, it is clean and secured well, and a lot of facilities available, like gym or meeting space, I don’t see any problem on boathouse. This apartment is surely one of my strong recommendations."

"Boathouse is a neat place and a great surprise for me! Concerning comfort and an amazing location, this place couldn’t be better! Brand new condos, great appliances and a stunning rooftop. I am not only living here, I am collecting amazing sunsets from the rooftop."
