"If you are reading this, do not even consider living here unless it is your only option. Management is awful and hardly do anything to improve the building. Here are just some of the issues I've had since moving in. I agreed to pay over $100 more a month because I wanted a washing/drying combo in my unit, it has not once dried my laundry at all. There is a massive issue with package stealing that management has done absolutely nothing to address, they simply say "file a police report" but the police have nothing to go off of because there aren't any cameras except for one that only watches the front door. It's pathetic. Most of the amenities are unavailable, the gym is near useless because there's only one squat rack and most of the handles on the cable machines are missing. It's basically a treadmill room with a squat rack and leg press. The pool was nice, but there was rarely a life guard there and I, a grown man, would get yelled at for trying to go in the deep end because there was only one life guard there. I can not remember any time I saw two life guards. The elevators are constantly breaking down, sometimes both of them being out of commission forcing me to take the stairs and see all of the opened stolen packages, including my own, in the stairwell. It took over two months for maintenance to replace the light bulbs in the bathroom and fix the towel rack. The AC was out for over half of August, the hottest month of the year. Then they shut off the AC entirely to "prepare for the winter" during a heat wave. My apartment was in the mid 80's and humid for the a lot of July, August, and September. The kitchen sink only produces scalding hot water, and the faucet makes a loud high pitch noise when you use the jet function. I would have to have my rent lowered by $500 for me to consider renewing my lease. Absolutely terrible experience."
"DO. NOT. RENT. HERE. This place is a disgusting combination of poor management, disrespectful neighbors, and blatant neglect. You will never know peace if you choose to live here. Roaches, flies, and mice are the real tenants. Fire alarm goes off almost daily at all hours of the day and night to the point where the fire department doesn’t even enter with gear on anymore. Constant police presence. You will be absolutely DROWNING in trash both indoors and outdoors and the entire complex smells worse than a zoo. Constant screaming, yelling, and vandalism. The complex smoking is atrocious. You will be hotboxed in your own apartment from cigarettes, weed, cigars and more even with the doors and windows closed. Facilities are broken down and over priced. They make you pay amenities fees for a half-stolen gym and a pool that was closed half the summer. Elevators are constantly out of service. God forbid you return home after dark - drunk men loiter and leer outside of the doors catcalling and trying to follow women in. The “security” panels on the doors are a joke - the doors are either propped open, broken, or the panel is broken so the latch is blocked by duct tape. Maintenance doesn’t do anything, apartment was falling apart, and the office staff are some of these most condescending people I’ve ever met - especially Hiba and Tiffany. If you are a college student you are better off paying for the dorm. If you are a young adult, this place is unsafe. If you have ANY other option I suggest you take it."
"Hello, a very important notice for when you renew the contract. Please do not update the number of people if the office asks you to because they are charging fees for all tickets regardless of whether they are babies or children. I have a 3-bedroom apartment and I have lived here for 2 years and I only live with my children, they only go to school and I have never gotten a bill of $500 today my contract has not expired yet but I already renewed a new contract and they are already charging fees for water bills that have never been spent. Be careful, please do not renew contracts if they ask you to update the people who live because they do it to scam."
"If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would. Trillium was a terrible place to live and I’m so shocked that this place is still allowed to be up and running. We had so many issues while living here. We stayed for one year and it was terrible. They have 3 separate buildings and when we went to tour the apartments they show you only the good and hide all the bad. We weren’t able to see the exact apartment that we were gonna move into until the day of our move and when we walked in we were so disappointed. The bathroom toilet was broken, the apartment smelled like piss, our dining room floor was warped and they didn’t come and fix it for 2 months. We couldn’t even use the dining room because we couldn’t walk in the floor. Our bedroom door wouldn’t shut, the painted over it too much it didn’t fit the door frame anymore, and that took them 3 months before they came and fixed it. The towel rack in the bathroom was hanging off the wall, and that took them 2 months to come and fix. The oven and stove didn’t work for the first 3 weeks we were there. There were flies and roaches all in the apartment. We had to buy our own traps and stuff. They charge you every month for pest control but it doesn’t work. Mind you all these issues we had we told them the first day of living there and it still took them months to come and fix the stuff. The maintenance people are extremely rude. They just bust in your apartment whenever they want to come and fix your stuff and then they will be there for like 3/4 hours on even the simplest tasks that shouldn’t take that long. The leasing office people are rude and disrespectful. They talk to everyone like they are stupid. They are very condescending and the leasing office is always closed for some random reason. We constantly had cops and the fire department at the complex. We had cops chasing people around the complex, people pulling the fire alarm as a joke. The fire alarm would go off minimum 2 times a week at like 2am. We could never order packages to our apartment because people would steal them and then when we asked the leasing office they told us the cameras won’t work until next year. 3 days before we moved our someone broke into our car in the garage. The same garage that they make you pay $50-100 a month for and they told us the same thing, “ the cameras don’t work”."
"Almost chose to live here but ultimately decided not to. Very glad we looked elsewhere as we were able to find a much better apartment in Alexandria for a cheaper price. The apartment that we viewed didn’t seem bad itself but there looked like mold in the vents which we have had in other apartments and it turned out to be black mold from the hvac unit which was a huge health hazard we nearly had to sue to have fixed so we instantly ran. Other than that the apartment appeared decent. The complex itself was ok. That’s about all we can say from what we saw. Not sure about the other negatives in the other reviews and the news but I would advise to do your research before committing."
