"Is this the best bookstore in Philly? Probably. Which makes it at least in the top 20 or so nationwide. You wouldn't find your Barnes and Noble type books here. But that's the point. What you'll find here is the good stuff that Barnes and Noble wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Queer writers. Writers of color. Anticapitalist authors. Local criticism, the Wooden Shoe has it all. You could spend an hour browsing and still only discover a part of the store. It's a must visit and a blessing on the local Philly community."
