"I was supposed to have my first appointment this morning, but was called on my way over by the front desk asking if I had completed the paperwork they had emailed to me. I replied that unfortunately between a very demanding job and nausea and fatigue in the evenings, I hadn’t gotten to it. No where in the emails did it say that I had to complete the forms before my appointment. It simply stated “ Please complete all of the forms linked below as soon as possible”. The front desk person then asked if I’d be able to come early, but I was already driving to the appointment, which for me is a 45min drive from my apartment, and there was no way I could arrive earlier as she had called me 25 min before the start of my appointment. I told her that I would arrive on time for my appointment, to which she replied that she would have to cancel my appointment and reschedule me because I couldn’t arrive early. The lack of grace and kindness by the front office in the situation was astounding. I understand that the need to keep their office running smoothly, but I have never been turned away from a doctors office for not arriving early to complete intake forms without having been given any information beforehand. It is a shame the front office is so callous as I’ve heard great things about the doctors, but I do not want to be subject to another situation where I am mustering the strength to get to an appointment on time amidst morning nausea and vomiting only to be told halfway there that my appointment is canceled."
