"I have lived here since September, and have experienced more problems than a little. Let me say i moved here out of necessity for the sake of my children and on the strength and urging of a good friend who has been a resident for some time. i will say where i am located for the most part it is quiet and in a prime location, however it is other issues that bother me. For instance how is it that it took maintenance almost 2 weeks to replace a filter for my furnace, not to mention my family went almost the entire winter without adequate heat, which resulted in a $800+ electric bill. I do understand they are under new management and changes are on the horizon, but nothing as of yet. There are so many issues i have encountered in just the 9 months that i have been here that if i had it to move I would. You try and reach someone in the office and they never answer the phone and they are sitting right there. It is just so much and it is so sad because they are really nice apartments for small families, minimum wage makers, seniors, practically anyone but management has got to do better...."
"DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT MOVE HERE. LAST RESORT. Today was my last straw. The maintenance crew talked about stealing my TV RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE (not knowing it was my stuff they were talking about.) His manager was present and didn't say a word. Theyre money driven, DONT FIX ANYTHING, FORBID ANYTHING happen because they won't come out, if they do it'll be 2-3 weeks after the fact. They never answers the office phones, RODENTS galore, and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't pass a health department inspection. Outside of my own cleanliness, it failed inspection due to MOLD and the paint job. You WILL regret it. Don't let the pricing fool you. Just as another reviewer stated, why are there 4 reviews with the same exact statements ? ...because they’re a fraudulent complex. Believe the ACTUAL customer reviews you read that explicitly describe their experience. They are very very true and forthcoming. Again DO NOT MOVE HERE, rent at your own discretion and save yourself a great big headache."
"From our first greeting to interactions to necessary brief conversations with office staff and maintenance since, we are so pleased to have found, what is for us, a hidden gem. They are friendly. They work hard to help you. The apartment is older, yes, but was very clean, well maintained and with many new upgrades! Its very comfortable living and love the location! Shopping all around and everything you need within a few minutes walk or drive. Very glad we found it."
"Where do I start! So, I've only been here for about 2 1/2 months so far & I'm already ready to move. The area isn't to bad for someone like myself who is already from the area. Prior to moving here I checked the reviews & I was a bit skeptical about it at first. The reviews read that they have a roach & mice problem very bad. Upon receiving a phone call about being approved I came in & sign the paperwork to receive the keys. A few days after receiving the keys I receive a call saying my security deposit was suppose to be more then what I was told however I did not have to pay the additional because the mistake was not on my part. Since I've been here I've notice that this complex is all about their money & not necessarily pleasing their tenants. When you pay your rent you do not receive a receipt. Pets are allowed at no cost but they PROHIBIT pitbulls & threaten to have the dog put to sleep if your found with one. I keep my apartment very clean so no signs of rodents or roaches & I even placed extra steel wool in between the floor boards in which it looked as if they had already. The entire apartment has just been covered in paint to look new to the eye but you can still see the cracks, puckles, water spots & etc beyond the wall. Lets not get on the bathroom, it looks like they added tile over tile & the tub/tile has been painted over to cover up the mold. There's not screens in the windows so keep an eye on your kids & or birds. The model apartment isn't what you get necessarily this place is like a dealership, they do what they can to take your money. The buildings are trash & do not get cleaned daily like they should. Kids hang out in your building screaming, slamming doors & smoking weed. Parking is a mess and expect to go through the hassle of trying to get a parking pass for guest. The office staff with the exception of one young lady are very unprofessional. The maintenance guys, well at least the ones I've encountered were pretty honest & fixed what was broken but I've never really had to call them. Expect to have a high electric bill & I do mean $600-$800 because some apartments aren't inspected completely before tenants move in, that was my case. But on the upside of things the police do patrol the neighborhood often, there are bus stops on pretty much every corner if you don't a car, there's a shopping center right across the street, your all of 2 minutes from DC, the beltway is right there & the people in the community are pretty friendly. But here you pretty much get what you pay for & if you haven't noticed all the reviews say the same thing which means nothings changed over the years. ***11 month Update*** Its very unfortunate but throughout this year there has been at least 4 murders on my street, my condolences to those lost. Maintenance comes & works hard to do their job to the best of their ability but the company is very cheap so they won't paid to actually fix anything so maintenance patches things. Still no mice, I keep my apartment very clean. Stay up to date on your rent because one day after the 5th their accessing your late fees & will try and over charge you. The summer wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I am out of here when my lease ends."
"The only perk here is the cheap rent. This is a very high crime area so you can imagine the types of things that go on around here. The leasing office is okay, they have their attitude moments sometimes. My biggest gripe is the unprofessional maintenance department. The maintenance workers do half-assed work the majority of the time. I called about my A/C not working at 10:00am and the rude lady who works in the maintenance dept said it would be fixed, I called at 1:00pm and she said it would be fixed today. I went up to the maintenance office at 4:00pm (mind you they close at 5pm) and asked would someone would be coming. She didn't bother to look up from her phone to acknowledge my presence for a few moments. She claimed that someone would be coming. Long story short she never even put my request in the first time, because I received an email work request at 4:15pm. I had to call the company that owns Park Forest and raise hell. Needless to say a few minutes later maintenance knocked on my door and gave me a portable A/C unit. When my lease is up I am gone. Absolutely gone."
