"Terrible. Very disrespectful staff, waited 5+ hours then eventually walked out and went to MidCoast. A woman was in agonizing pain begging for help and all she got was “we’re busy. We have people dying and bleeding out. We’re busy”. After being told something was seriously wrong with her, she begged for help and got nothing. I wouldn’t go here even if I was dying, please avoid. I understand short staff and being busy, but courtesy goes a long way and the patient treatment was awful"

"Waited for 3 hours in the waiting room before I left. During this entire time, I witnessed more people get up and leave than people get called back to be seen. My final straw was when the lady next to me, who was in visible pain and discomfort, had said she'd been there since 3. The one next to her said she'd been there since 5. It was almost 1 am at this point. My suggestion, find a different ER."

"Five stars to MGMC emergency room for providing great care to me and my loved ones over the years. Its a first class teaching hospital with a great combo of up to date technology, experienced staff, and students on clinical rotations full of idealism and enthusiasm. Going to the hospital is never a desired outcome but when the time comes this is a welcoming, patient centered place. If you are not a patient cafeteria and first floor coffee shops are great places for coffee, a comfort food meal, or a place to chat with the relatives. Everything you need is here be you patient or visitor."

"When you bring your 3 year old child here in what you think and the person you called on the phone thinks is an emergency and your child needs to come up to the ER. Why does such urgency now have to wait for hours upon hours. Second time this has happened. Should have known better. Especially after a month ago a kids appendix burst while in the waiting room for hours. Useless and an embarrassment of Emergency Room."

"It's a hospital that is very busy that's to be expected but! The people have passion and care for their job as well as you. Everyone I met was soo nice it's better than any mass hospital. People writing these reviews are impatient and need to understand there are others that need attention as well after all the world doesn't revolve around you. Excellent care and a room full a smiles and genuine people. me and my future children will be going here for a long time. Thank u maine general for saving my life and taking care of me ❤️"
