"This semester I felt it was so hard to get a slot. I cannot not find any slots within two weeks, sometimes even longer. They made some appointments remote by default. Then you have to book another in-person appointment if necessary. The whole process is inefficient and too slow for the the patients. The quality of service here falls short of expectation. No surprise to me. I have negative experiences relatable to many of the comments here. It js shocking to me that they could get worse."
"Besides BU behavioral medicine, an excellent department in my experience, this building and staff is not equipped to help you with any health condition beyond the most mild level of severity. A staff member warned me that my symptoms could potentially indicate 'spinal meningitis' (seriously) and urgently cautioned that I should come to the office. Upon arrival, they treated me with: a strep test, a covid test, and a flu test. Once they came back negative, despite the presence of all the same symptoms, they decided at that point there was nothing else they could possibly do, and sent me on my way. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't expect more than a band-aid as treatment."
"I can’t be more grateful to student health services. They have been so nice and so caring and the entire team consists of top notch experts. The amazing nurse practitioner who has been following my care has been so supportive and is providing invaluable guidance."
"I had a fever of 100.00 and the nurse straight up said, “this is barely low grade. Also if you drove here, I’m hesitant on giving you any treatment at all.” So I received none. No covid tests. No flu tests. No strep tests. Nothing. I drove 2 hours to be told to get some rest. after having a fever for 8 days in a row, do you think I haven’t been resting? I heard this place was bad for behavioral health but it’s just bad in general. Don’t go here. Go here to get referrals and THATS IT."
"The shs honestly couldn't care less about BU students. I wanted to go in and get tested for bronchitis because I was showing symptoms of it and I was severely sick, the advice they gave me was to "take medicine, sleep, and drink tea", as if that's not COMMON SENSE, of course I was already doing that. Another thing that I cannot stand about the shs and their mental health services. BU loves to pride itself on their "amazing" mental health services but in reality they couldn't care less. I was suffering with terrible anxiety and the therapist I met with at shs just told me to do some breathing exercise. I ended up meeting with an outside of school therapist and turns out I needed to go on medication because of out serve my anxiety was. Additionally my friend was having terrible stomach pain and they couldn't book an appoint with shs because it was busy that day, they ended up having a stomach infection and had to go the emergency room."
