Best Western Plus Augusta Civic Center Inn 110 Community Drive, Augusta, ME 04330

"When I first checked in. I had high hopes for my stay. The check in was smooth and I received 2 free bottles of water and a small bag of chips. The associates checking me in were super nice. But this is the only good part of my stay. After I dropped my stuff off. I headed out to do some things around town. I came back to my room after 9pm. I found out that the tv remote didn’t work. So if I wanted to watch anything. I would have to constantly get up and use the buttons on the tv it’s self to do anything. Which was annoying. But wasn’t the worst thing. As I was watching tv. I heard the heater kick on and click a few times. Then a few minutes later, it clicked a few times again, then a few minutes later, again it clicked. This did not stop until I had to get up and turn off the heater. It probably did this for an hour before I finally turned it off and went to bed. I told the front desk the next morning and all I got was a “sorry” and why didn’t you tell us last night. Well if I told them last night after 10pm. I would have had to pack my stuff up and move rooms. I would have had maintenance people in my room trying to fix the issue and would disturb my peace, or they would have just told me to deal with it. None of the options seemed acceptable because I just wanted the day to be over. They did not offer me anything except for a “sorry” on my stay. No discount on the amount I had to pay for my room, no future discount, not even a free soda or bag of chips. A couple days later. I got an email from best western on my experience and I wrote similar to what I wrote above and the GM got back to me the next day and again just said sorry and hoped that I’d have it in my heart to give them another shot. Again, not offering me anything substantial to come back and try them again. I’m sorry, but I will not give them anymore of my money to “hope” that my next stay would be better. They already ripped me off once and believed they didn’t owe me anything to improve my experience. I have stayed at the Hampton inn down the road before. I would suggest anyone try out that hotel instead of this one. They are roughly the same amount of money and actually care about customer service."

"This “place” is disgusting. The rooms are just clean enough to make it through the stay. Two months ago they had to fumigate every room because of bed bugs. Management is below average with nobody knowing their job. It’s a terrible place to stay as they don’t care about their guests"

"Our stay was amazing. The staff was first class and friendly. The rooms were immaculately clean. Beds were so soft. Shower was great. Great price for our stay. I can only say good things about the hotel. I did compliment everyone to the assistant general manager. If you ever need to stay in Augusta. This is the best place. Clean. Good food. Friendly staff. There is not a negative thing I could say."

"Can't go wrong with best western, had a king bed which was very comfortable,clean room, very good breakfast. Towing a trailer and there is lots of room to park it. Right off the highway and a truck refueling on the same exit. Alicia at the front desk was friendly and checked us in quickly. Will stay here again."

"We had room 127, which was at the very end of the hallway, by the elevator, exit door and ice machine. Not many people were staying there as it was Thanksgiving eve. Plus side was that we were able to park right outside our room and use that exit. Very handy. Only 2 things we didn't like, first was the shower head. It had multiple settings but not enough water pressure. With a spouse with long hair took long time to rinse the shampoo out of hair. Second, someone had the bright idea at 4 am to go and fill a garbage bag 1/2 full of ice, from the ice machine. Breakfast was good. Check in and out staff were great. We'd stay again."
