"Child Abuse, Racist and Discrimination I want to share my horrible experience at Luxe Alewife with property manager Julie. Last Friday, March 31st, 2023, my 6-year-old and 3-year-old children were playing in the playground located in front of Luxe Alewife with their friends who are current residents in Luxe. My children needed to use the bathroom immediately, so I took them into Luxe to use the visitor's bathroom. While helping my 3-year-old daughter in the bathroom, I heard a woman yelling at my 6-year-old child, who was waiting in the bathroom washing hand area. Upon checking, my child was terrified and ran away to look for help. I asked Julie to stop yelling and explained that I had spoken to a male staff previously, who confirmed that we could use the visitor bathroom. However, she kept yelling at me and my 3-year-old daughter and said we were trespassing. I further asked her to stop yelling and stop pointing at my child because my 3-year-old daughter is sensitive to sound and her super high volume yelling would greatly impact her life and learning. She is attending special education class in CPS. I explained to Julie that my friends lived in the building, and our kids were playing together in the little park in front of the building, and I live in the next building. However, she did not stop and started using discriminatory words and sentences, and louder voices to threaten me to leave. She further yelled that my child and I are not allowed to use her bathroom and she has been working in the building for four years. In the past week, my children have been suffering from nightmares because of this. School officials have arranged for a nurse and reported it to Child Protection Services. My 3-year-old child has been referred to mental health counseling. As an Asian mother with children in special needs and a guest at Luxe Alewife, I believe that Julie, the Property Agent, is a terrible person who mentally abused my children and is a racist. I believe this is not the first time Julie has discriminated and done terrible things to people because Julie is a drama queen. My husband went to the building right after we left to ask her name to report her. She did not admit that she met me and my children in the first place. She then admitted later and refused to tell her name because she knew what she did was horrible and wrong. A person like her cannot work anywhere with children."

"This community has a lot of pluses - next to the Alewife T, modern furnishings, great amenities, but most importantly community managers like Jeff and Mercy, who are attentive to the residents’ needs, make this community an amazing place to live in! Very happy with my experience so far the last few months I’ve rented at Luxe."

The apartment is immaculate, and the accommodations are amazing here, with the gym, heated parking garage as well as the cinema. It’s in a great location so commuting to work has been so easy for me. Communication with the office team has also been great they have really been helpful at settling me into the place. It’s been a great couple a months and I’ve really been enjoying it!"
