"I appreciated how organized and detail-oriented this place is — when I booked my room, I received detailed instructions for my stay. I arrived after reception hours, and as long as you follow the instructions, it’s a smooth check-in process. My room was clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but plenty spacious and perfect for a quick work trip. The staff I met were friendly and courteous. I would stay here again."
"The Oasis Guest House was a perfect base for us to explore Boston on our short stay as it is located near a metro station and just a short walk away from the Back Bay train station and Logan Airport shuttle. We stayed in the budget room with a shared bathroom. The room was basic, but more importantly it was clean and safe. The shared bathroom also posed no issues and there were always enough towels and toiletries. The breakfast included was simple but absolutely appreciated! It saved us possibly 8 or 10 dollars a day and allowed us to start each day without a search for a cafe. The staff were very helpful whenever I emailed regarding payment or check-in, and we were able to leave our bags with them before our flight that evening. Our only slight downsides were a gap under our bedroom door which left in some light and noise from the corridor, and the room getting slightly cooler at night (although extra blankets were available if needed). The price is slightly more than I have paid for similar properties elsewhere, but compared to Boston's hotels? This was excellent value! I would definitely recommend this location for anyone looking to explore Boston from a safe and clean base!"
"Very lovely staff at check-in. Great Back Bay location & beautiful neighborhood. Clean room, bathroom & common areas. Extremely modest room perhaps 120sq ft with double bed & no decor. Notwithstanding, the room has basic amenities such as TV, dresser, small nightstand, etc. Shared bath with apparently 3 other people or rooms, which was not mentioned on the 3rd party app, which I used (fault totally mine, although just check reservation & no mention of this issue; other than hotel chooses room). I was just looking for something affordable this time of the year in Boston ($200) for a short night until I catch the Acela to DC in the very early morning. I never stay in less than a 4 or 5 star property, so expectations on my part were unrealistic. Breakfast is included and hours are perfect, starting at 7am, but I'll be leaving to early to review. Might stay here again in private bath room because welcoming was so warm & location convenient."
"This is a comfortable, quiet, well-appointed, and fairly basic guest house with very friendly and helpful staff. It has a great, safe, and convenient location, and the breakfast offerings are excellent. I stayed on the top floor and the bathrooms on my floor (two, one with a shower) were always available when I needed them and were very clean. (Towels, soap, shampoo and a hair dryer are provided.) An added bonus is that the Back Bay bus stop is a close walk away, from where you jump on the Logan Espress (for just $3!) to get to the airport in just 25 minutes! (The guest house provides detailed directions and instructions for buying a ticket online ahead of time.) I really hope this place sticks around, as I plan to be back! Thank you for three very pleasant nights, Oasis! You are aptly named!"
"I made a reservation in May 2023 for September 2023. This so called B&B is the worst we've ever stayed in. I never once heard from this place in the 5 months of having a reservation. They said I opted out of text messages (????) So that means you didn't have my phone number? Hmmm!!! The rooms are old and not updated (but clean...I will give them kudos for that). There is no parking, unless you pay for it, and it is a first come first serve to the parking spaces otherwise you park in the parking garage 3 blocks away and walk with your luggage to the B&B. There is no elevator, so you climb 2 or 3 flights of steps with your luggage after walking 3 blocks with no help. Apparently they turn the AC off or up at night so our 3rd floor room was a sweat box. The next morning we were told there was an issue with the AC and within 15 to 30 minutes it would be working. (my husband saw him turning the AC down and also we never saw any AC repair trucks in the vicinity) The next night was the same way, so we were sure we knew what he was up too. A B&B serves breakfast, not Toast or Danish and Hard Boiled Eggs, Coffee and Tea. There were little laminated notes stuck to everything -everywhere. ( We felt like we were in a detention home with a drill sergeant . This is how the owner Rich acted. Very rude person. The best part of all is....DO NOT EXPECT FRESH TOWELS AND WASH CLOTHS EVERYDAY OR YOUR BED MADE OR YOUR WASTE BASKETS EMPTIED. This I think was the most disgusting part of the whole stay except for the amount of money we paid. For What????? I would highly recommend staying somewhere else if you can. I give this B&B a FLAT 0 on a scale of 1 to 10."
