Reviews of Moxy NYC Times Square
"Without a doubt this is a 1 star hotel, I’m truly confused why Marriott attaches its name to this place. And I booked this on a corporate company travel site so I was blindsided by how bad this place could be. 1) the rooms are a shoe box. It’s not even a full size bed and the toilet is in the shower. 2) there is absolutely no customer service. If you want the hotel to hold your bag you will need to carry your own bag to the basement and wait in a line of people that drop their bag off to a storage room. If you need basic utilities you have to get them yourself from an overpriced vending machine in the basement 3) the gym is in the basement and I walked right back out after seeing it. 4) there is minimal security and the elevators can be accessed without a hotel key. Speaking of elevators, they are terrible and there is no consistency if they are going up or down so you just go for a 5 min ride every time. Overall, maybe this place is fine for a 21 year old on a budget, but absolutely unacceptable for corporate employees and should be removed as a partnership"
"My partner and I stayed at Moxy for 4 nights and we had a great experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt that the hotel was attentive, friendly, and very fun. Location was amazing and close to the subway station. Rooms were very artsy and surprisingly had a lot of storage space. The bed was comfortable and the blackout curtains were much appreciated. We got $30 credit daily to use at their bar or cafe, which paid for our daily breakfast. They also lend out a Polaroid camera and give you 10 pictures a day! My only qualms were that there is no fan in the bathroom and we had a rude bartender on the first night there. Otherwise, we had lots of fun staying here and would definitely do it again."
"So I haven’t stayed at the Moxy, but I come to work here in the lobby area almost every day. They have tons of seating and the lobby is HUGE! It’s impossible to find this kind of space in a coffee shop in NYC. You can also enjoy the space without making a purchase, but if you’d like to, there’s a coffee shop that converts into a bar at night. The space offers huge tables which are great for team meetings and I have met a lot of cool travelers that are just passing through. This space has definitely become a home away from home for me! ❣️"
"Probably one of my worst hotel experiences. The room product is terrible. The staff is uncaring and have a lot of attitude. The rooms are extremely small and cramped. The bed is tinny and is literally wall to wall and stuck to a corner. We had no windows to the outside. Just a view across into other rooms. Felt like a prison cell. Not to mention that the room had a very strong smell of bleach. Once you lay your head down on the bed, the toilet bowl is literally 1.5 meters away from your nose. The gym seems to have been an afterthought and placed in the basement. No showers, changing facilities. Very life style hotel which is great but the staff should have some respect when speaking to a client. I asked to speak to the manager about my room and that I was unhappy and mentioned it twice to the staff and no one contact me back. I was ready to pay to upgrade to something bigger but no one contacted me. If you’re paying 130-150$ then go for it but I paid 400$. Really disappointed."
