"I have been going to so much trouble with my dog ever since they spayed my chihuahua and left remainder of ovaries and a peace of the uterus behind causing it to have adherence to her pancreas. I have been in Brazil with her on vacation to see my family and the vet I have there told me she’s in the heat two years later , which I asked how is that possible if she was spayed? That’s when he told me to take her to do a ultrasound which I did and there was The confirmation. Therefore right after her vet there said that we would have to correct that mistake which we did, however her hormones were being produced and the cells were going into her stomach causing an incredible unbalanced which she will have to do estradiol hormone inhibiting and another surgery to prevent general infection. Mind you that was caused by a spaying malfunction from humane society clinic on the upper east side Manhattan that I had so much trust. I warn you , be careful bringing your fur baby to be spayed there."

"Amazing people! Life saver and caring!!! I took my dog to get spayed and they were so pleasant very organized. Informative, were always contacting me during the day. Then called me when to pick her up, with following instructions regarding the procedure. Prices are affordable and they work with you. It’s amazing. The lady at the front was a sweetheart. When I was on my way to pick up my dog I encountered a loose dog about to get hit by traffic! Long story short I managed to drive after him and run out to grab him by his leash, the poor dogs paws were bleeding everywhere he was lost. I brought him to the Humane society since I was going there anyway, they helped us without thinking twice. Scanned him in hopes he was microchipped and he was !!! They contacted the owner and he was in an Uber immediately to the humane society. If that’s not a story to show how they are here to help animals and the universe bringing me to them I don’t know what is!!!! So thank you soo sooo much for this experience, it was my first time here and I feel so blessed and grateful for people like these to help in this crazy world we live in. I’m also happy the dog and his owner we reunited. You guys are amazing !!!!! Thank you ! Stella is my dog to the left who got spayed and the incision is beautiful and clean ! The other picture is of Oliver, the pup the humane society helped me with finding his owner."

"We have adopted two different dogs, two different occasions, and we will do so again. They are very thorough in assessing the personality of the dogs, and cats, so you can find a great companion, who is already house-broken and trained, who is a good fit for your lifestyle. I commend them so much because they are dealing with people who leave dogs and cats with them, for a myriad of reasons. For all the New Yorkers who abandon their dogs and cats with them because they are too busy, or have a relationship, or move, whatever the reason, the Humane Society wants to adopt out their dogs and cats to people most likely to be long term/permanent parents/companions. Their rules are easy to follow if you pay attention and respect them. They are also very supportive of you after you adopt. Keep in mind they are very, very busy, and affordable, so please have some patience as the are dealing with many different kinds of issues each day, because they are affordable. Lastly, if you are interested in adopting, take the application seriously and fill it out completely if you expect them to follow up with you."

"I started bringing my pooch here after her 1st required visit to the veterinarian ... I was flabbergasted at how much it cost ... having a puppy is like having a child ... you must keep their wellness appointments and get the vaccines that will protect them from the nastiness in the streets ... I couldn't even take my puppy for a walk until she weighed enough to get a special vaccine that protects her from rat pee ... because I live in New York City and we're a haven for the rat population ... my Yorkie Olivia is almost 2½ years old now & I've been taking her to The Humane Society since she was spayed at 6 months ... the veterinarian wanted over 1K .... The Humane Society was less than $200 ... They have a text number which they check & answer you very promptly ... you can same-day pick-up meds for your pet as long as the med doesn't require medical tests ... appointments require a $45 deposit which is applied to your final bill ... there is going to be a wait --- sometimes 2 months ... but the savings you get for professional veterinarian care for your fur-baby is soooo worth it ... and it's easy to get there on public transportation ... a win-win no matter how you slice it !"
