Summer Place Hotel 30 Olive Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971

"We weren't looking for anything fancy, just a clean place to sleep and shower, don't let the online photos fool you. First there is hardly any time someone is at the front desk. Our room had mold on the ceiling, a noisy air conditioner that woke me up every time it came on and a the shower was just big enough to stand in, and the cable box was broken so no TV. Then we were told to move our car in front of the hotel at 10:00AM the next day as pay for parking was done. We moved our car, went to the beach, came back and had a $30.00 ticket! Spend a little extra and stay somewhere else."

"This place was not as advertised. The room was smaller than the pictures. The sheets, blanket and pillows had stains on them. The walls were damaged and cords were hanging everywhere. You have to pay $7 for hot water to get a nice shower and $5 for a small bucket of ice. You also have to pay $250 for a parking pass from this place. The owner was not in office when we checked in and checked out. The housekeeper knocked on the door and tried to come in the room while I was in the shower and didnt announce who she was, lucky the door was locked by the lock on the inside. The stairs outside were so unstable, we didn’t feel safe on them. I would not recommend going to this place to stay."

"The owner wasn't at the desk which gave us ample time to look around and see mold, multiple electrical hazards and general unsettling stuff. When the owner finally came to the desk he was in boxers, no shirt. Mold in the room and in the A/C, stained yellowed sheets, the railing on the stairs was so unstable it was not usable, and the rooms smelled of mold and urine. Owner practiced trumpet outside the rooms in the evening, even bordering on 9pm and onward. It felt like a fever dream. He also does not offer refunds due to his knowledge of the state of the place. We did not stay here."

"How can I describe this place. The smell of the room, the size of the room, the inconvenience parking lot, which is none. I booked this place because it was the only hotel available, close to the beach, and it was a last-minute getaway. The owner is rude, and the customer services are a thing you wish they would have. I do not recommend this place. They should take this down and rebuild the entire place."

"While the room was small it had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the people were friendly. This is about a 2 minute walk to the beach and board walk. We have 2 very quiet evening here. The room was clean as well. The only thing I could say that could change was the pillows needed some upgrade."
