"Pros: Enjoyed the ocean view room. Daily room service was okay. Cons: Bugs in and around coffee maker. Dirty washcloth left in our room after cleaning that was not ours. Restaurant menus in rooms even those these places are closed off season…misleading. Unfriendly reception staff. Disappointing experience."

"Jen and Melissa were great! They were very nice and courteous during check in and helped us solve a problem that wasn’t their/the hotels fault at all. But they still went the extra mile to make sure we were going to be able to enjoy our stay as much as possible."

"The lobby is modern and clean, but the rest of the hotel that we’ve been in is dated and needs maintenance and updating. The front desk staff wasn’t helpful when I booked and paid for a non-refundable king bed hotel room w/ balcony through a third party (like Expedia) and the hotel gave me the wrong room type. The front desk staff didn’t even ask to see my receipt and said I had to call my third party to get it addressed, which I did, and the third party got it somewhat resolved with the hotel after an hour on the phone with me on hold on the other end. The hotel’s customer service was disappointing. The first room they mistakenly given us was a king size (no balcony) on the second floor, and had a weird musty smell (stagnant air) and the toilet didn’t flush well. The second room (after the phone call) was a double full bed w/ balcony on the first floor, so it wasn’t quite what we needed because it’s me, hubby, and our 17 month old. Unfortunately, we were tired after the ordeal that we didn’t want to change again. We made do, by pushing the one full bed against the wall so our child didn’t roll off the bed. Ideally, if we had the king bed, our child would of slept between us. And it was too difficult w/ the night stands, etc to push the two beds together. Anyway, it was clear that they didn’t vacuum very well because the 2 feet we moved the bed showed the dust and debris (bottle cap, etc) under the bed. The carpets need a deep clean. The popcorn ceiling is peeling in spots. The balcony door doesn’t lock half of the time because the latch doesn’t fully engage when the lock lever is turned. Also, the balcony is only a few feet higher than the sidewalk and adjacent street, so someone can easily hope the balcony railing and enter the room. We had looked at recent reviews before booking and they were positive, especially it being a convention center type and prices we paid, we had expected better room standards and customer service. Maybe there’s parts of the hotel that been upgraded, but we haven’t seen it. The only positive things are the location is great w/ direct boardwalk access and the shower water gets hot."

"This is an old school hotel that needs some updating. Proximity is very nice, and having a pool by the ocean is pleasing. Service was good. Parking is at a premium so arrive early. It is pricey for what you get, so you are paying for the proximity. We had a good time though, but not sure we would stay again. This is a 2 star hotel really, but I am giving 3 for the proximity and pool features."
