"I am a former employee. My mom was a current employee of mass general Brigham when she died of her cancer and sadly so many huge things were missed. Her high potassium and declining kidney function were ignored. Me as a nurse practitioner questioning it was told too soon to repeat labs. Series of horrible events and misses. Would never recommend MGB for cancer care. Ever. When she was dying I never even heard from her oncology team. Me and and a stranger from hospitalist team decided. Never even heard after her death. Just horrible. And mass general keeps sending her a bill. She’s dead. She was on your time clock when she died"
"I would not bring my dog to any part of Mass General for treatment. My brother was diagnosed with brain cancer and received treatment at both MIT and Mass General Cancer Center. He used to call his doctors Dr's Doom and Gloom. When he was inpatient, his room mate used to tell us that after visiting hours, they would take him and then bring him back vomiting and sicker than before. We found out after he passed that they were treating for seizures he didn't have. I will never forget the final meeting where Dr's D&G told us there was no more that can be done - followed by immediate discharge with a puke bucket. There are many options for treatment in the Boston Area. Do your research - and follow your heart. Best to all."
"I am so grateful to Dr. Smith and her amazing medical team at Mass General for the wonderful job with the lumpectomy surgery they have done for my mom! Dr. Smith has performed the surgery with such skill and care, and I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Her team is very professional, friendly and supportive. I highly recommend Dr. Smith and her team to anyone who needs surgery. They are the best!"
"My wife was very sick with an aggressive form of leukemia that also affected her kidneys. The Lymphoma Team at the MGH Cancer Center saved her life and her cancer is now in remission for four years. Her kidney disease has vanished. The employees at MGH are first class, not just the doctors, but all the support staff and follow up care. The team approach provides immediate access to doctors in almost any specialty, which is often needed in cancer care."
"The Howard Ulfelder, MD, Healing Garden is a rooftop garden on the 8th floor of the Yawkey Building at Massachusetts General Hospital. It is part of the Mass General Cancer Center. There is a water fountain, lots of greenery, and chairs for people to relax and reflect."
