"Six months at the Smyth and generally a positive experience. Pros A superb management team. Ben, Max, Jaqueline, and Alexandra are all pleasant, responsive, and helpful. They made our move-in smooth and less stressful. Victor and the maintenance crew are on top of things and available whenever issues arise. The concierge team is wonderful. Location is unbeatable with easy access to the train station, I95, and downtown. The building, floor plans, and layouts are modern and intuitive. I use the gym and the equipment and spaces are better than many I’ve seen in other buildings. I haven’t used other amenities so can’t comment. Cons Noise on the Washington Blvd side is a problem. Fire trucks and ambulances late at night are a regular occurrence, and so are cars with loud exhausts. And as others mentioned, walls and ceilings are thin. Still no gate for underground parking, as promised at move-in. Additionally, management said they were running out of spaces and may have to limit one car per apartment. Appliances are okay, but could have been upgraded at this price point. I will update the review at the one year mark."
"“The Smyth is an absolute amazing place to live. Amenity floor on the top of the building, 17th floor, has spectacular water views! One of the nicest surprises is the water pressure in the shower, it's heavenly. High ceilings in all the units makes a big difference on how the space feels, which is spacious.”"
"I'd been looking for a new rental for my wife and me for quite a while, and I think I had visited The Smyth a half dozen times at least as we explored different units and compared amenities and value with so many other places in and around Stamford. My list of possibilities started out at around 20-25 different apartment complexes, and, after a month or two of trial and error, we narrowed it down to The Smyth, Life Time (next door), Element One, and BLT Harbor Point. Above all, the entire leasing team at Smyth (Max, Jacqueline, and Ben) have consistently been head and shoulders better and more knowledgeable than their counterparts at all the other places. Specifically, the leasing agent(s) at Harbor Point have repeatedly been dismal and uninspired. The bubble that is Harbor Point is nice and all, but the units at Allure, Anthem, and Escape in particular also come across as being somewhat dated and, in some ways, quite unremarkable. Sure, much of this is due to the fact that Smyth and LifeTime are so brand spanking new and absolutely gleaming. Still, while the amenities at all 4 places are great, The Smyth feels more genuine and homey while Harbor Point comes across as being posh and pretentious at the other end of the spectrum. To each his own, I guess. Yes, The Smyth and Lifetime are a little more expensive than the others, but, in this case, the entire package including their location, walking scores, top of the line amenities, and, most of all, their team of representatives put everyone else to shame. Today, after putting Max at The Smyth through his paces, we finally applied for a unit there, and we have since started our lease. We'll be moving in officially next month. To date, I have nothing but nice things to say about everything and everyone at The Smyth."
"My husband and I love living at The Smyth! The office staff members are incredibly helpful and the building is extremely well-built. Very clean and beautifully decorated community spaces. 5 minute walk to the train station to get to New York City making for an easy commute. 5 stars all around!"
""It’s been a week since we moved in and I can’t complain about anything! Friendly and responsive management, apartments are great and equipped with very good quality kitchen and appliances. Neighbors are also very friendly and respectful! Great place to live in Stamford!""
