Holiday Inn Express & Suites Milford, an IHG Hotel 278 Old Gate Lane, Milford, CT 06460

"I like this holiday inn and will definitely be back at the end of this month!! There were only minor issues like the shower head was a bit wobbly and I also noticed that there was a tiny little bit of rust on the shower head itself but overall, this hotel was clean and the room was nice! Beds were comfortable and I like the fact that the housekeeper who cleans your room leaves a note for you and the date the room was cleaned. The parking lot has potholes and when you're getting off the highway, the hotel comes up pretty fast. The lane also merges so be careful of that too. Overall, it was nice and I would stay here again. Staff is friendly and attentive and they smile back at you and say hello! Which is so important as some hotels I have stayed in, they don't even acknowledge your presence!! I also appreciated that they put more towels in my room as requested and had the housekeeping come in and straighten my room! Love it!! Can't wait to be back again in a few weeks!"

"Holiday Inn Express & Suites located in Milford, Connecticut is an okay hotel. Everything is okay but it could always be better. The breakfast is good. We stayed two nights in room 513. When we checked in both of our windows were slightly open. Overall the room is clean but the window seals are completely filthy - see attached photos. Also the cost is average. The WiFi speeds are good. This hotel is in need of upgrades of everything. The elevator is past due inspection as per their posted inspection - again see photos. Also there are exposed wires by the HVAC controller in our room. We have two HVAC units in our room and neither wall mounted unit works. The controls on the a/c unit itself works. There are no dishes, pots n pans, silverware, etc in our room even though we have a suite with a kitchenette."

"Upon checking in the hotel, the clerk was nice and helpful. However, when we entered the room, the shower curtain was missing and one of the pillows were dirty. The room appeared that it had not been cleaned in awhile. Then, we saw a bedbug on the bed. It was at the point that I quickly rushed back downstairs and asked to check out. The hotel staff was receptive and friendly, but I would never recommend anyone to stay anywhere with bedbugs and that dirty. This place needs a complete overhaul. I was surprised that the IHG customer service were not more friendly or helpful though. The hotel staff were the only understanding people regarding the situation. I doubt I will ever stay with IHG again, and I’m a platinum elite member."

"The lady at reception was the only positive of my 10 minute experience at this hotel. Upon arrival she was very pleasant and greeted us. When we arrived to the room that was when things took a turn. The sheets were dirty, the pillow case was stained, the shower curtain was missing, and we found bed bugs. When we went to reception to cancel she was horrified and apologetic, and offered us a new room. We chose to leave the property and find a new hotel. When we contacted IHG the customer service was less supportive and offered us a hotel 60 miles away or refund. Overall the location is good, the local customer service was great, the rooms need a good deep clean."
