Welcome to Puketaha Primary School, a unique educational institution located in the picturesque rural area of Puketaha, just minutes away from Chartwell. Our school offers a sheltered learning environment that is hard to find within the city limits, providing students with a peaceful and nurturing atmosphere in which to thrive.

At Puketaha, our focus is on creating powerful lifelong learners who not only love learning but also know how to take charge of their own educational journey. We believe in empowering our students to drive their own learning experiences, fostering independence, critical thinking, and a genuine passion for knowledge.

As a full primary school, we cater to learners from Years 0 to 8, ensuring a seamless educational journey for our students. Our dedicated and experienced team of teachers is committed to providing high-quality education, tailored to meet the individual needs and interests of each student.

We are pleased to announce that applications for out-of-zone enrolments for the 2024 academic year are now open. The Puketaha School Board of Trustees invites parents who wish to enrol their children at our school to submit their applications. Please note that enrolment to the school is governed by an enrolment scheme.

Parents of students residing within our home zone are also requested to indicate their enrolment by the specified date. This will enable us to plan appropriately for the upcoming year. Students residing within the home zone are entitled to enrolment at Puketaha School without the need for a ballot application. However, siblings of current students will be required to submit a ballot application.

For the 2024 academic year, there will be a single ballot for out-of-zone enrolments. The number of available spaces will depend on the number of applications received from students residing within the zone. We currently have 18 spaces available for Year 1 Term 1, 25 spaces for Year 0 Terms 2, 3, and 4, 1 space for Year 2, 1 space for Year 3, 5 spaces for Year 5, 4 spaces for Year 6, and 10 spaces for Year 7 and 8.

To apply, please obtain an application form from the School Office or our website. Completed applications should be returned to Puketaha School either by mail or email. The deadline for submitting applications is Monday, 18th September 2023. In the event that a ballot for out-of-zone places is required, it will be held on Wednesday, 20th September 2023.
