Welcome to Central Kids Huntly West Kindergarten! Located in the heart of Huntly West on Smith Avenue, our establishment has been serving the community for over 50 years. We pride ourselves on providing a relaxed, home-like environment where tamariki (children) can explore and learn at their own pace.

At Central Kids Huntly West, we believe in the importance of manaakitanga (respect) and whanaungatanga (relationships) as the foundations of our kindergarten's wairua (spirit). We strive to create a nurturing atmosphere where kindness, aroha (love), and connection are valued.

Sustainability and connecting tamariki with the wonders of nature are central to our educational approach. Our tamariki enjoy gardening activities alongside our dedicated teaching team, and we take pride in sharing our harvest of fresh vegetables and strawberries with whaanau (families). In fact, we often donate our produce to ensure everyone in our community can benefit.

In our kindergarten, each day is unrushed, allowing tamariki to learn and grow in a safe environment. We believe that focusing on what brings joy to each child is the key to lifelong learning. Play is the way for our tamariki to explore, discover, and develop their skills.

To ensure accessibility, we provide a van service that supports some whaanau in getting to and from kindergarten safely. This van also offers the opportunity to explore different areas of our community, creating additional learning experiences for our tamariki.

Our fees, after government entitlements, are $5.00 per hour, making our kindergarten an affordable option for families in Huntly West.

We are proud to be a part of the Central Kids network, which includes other kindergartens such as Tokoroa Early Learning Centre and Tūrangi Kindergarten. Through these connections, we can further enrich the experiences of our tamariki.

Whether it's Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, our kindergarten is open and ready to welcome tamariki. We also have term breaks to allow for rest and rejuvenation.
