Welcome to Hukanui Kindergartens Waikato, a highly respected institution located in Hamilton, New Zealand. We are conveniently situated on Rutherford Street, close to Hukanui School and the Westfield shopping centre.

At Hukanui Kindergartens Waikato, we pride ourselves on providing high quality and affordable education and childcare. Our qualified and passionate teachers are dedicated to creating a welcoming and safe environment where children can thrive. Our spacious outdoor areas provide ample opportunities for children to explore and play, promoting physical development and a connection with nature. We also offer transition to school programs, ensuring that children are well-prepared for their next educational journey.

We understand the importance of flexibility for families, which is why we offer extended day, morning, and afternoon sessions. Our extended day runs for any 6.5 to 7.5 hours between 8am and 3.30pm, while our morning session is any 4 to 4.5 hours between 8am and 12.30pm. The afternoon session is 3 hours between 12.30pm and 3.30pm. Additionally, we provide 20 ECE (Early Childhood Education) hours each week, free for children aged 2 years and above. Any additional hours are charged at $4.00 per hour, or $5.25 per hour if you have attested any of your 20 ECE hours at another service.

Our qualified staff carefully plan programs that align with the early childhood curriculum, ensuring that children develop essential skills and knowledge. We focus on numeracy, literacy, nature and science, computers and technology, puzzles and games, creative arts, sand and water play, trips, and more. Our goal is to foster independence, curiosity, creativity, and respect for others, making sure that every child becomes a competent, confident, and successful learner.

During mat time, children and teachers come together to share daily information, stories, songs, movement, drama, and waiata (traditional Māori songs).
