Hopuhopu Sports Park
About the Business
Welcome to Hopuhopu Sports Park, located in Ngāruawāhia, New Zealand. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to be part of the vibrant Waikato-Tainui tribe.
At Hopuhopu Sports Park, we strive to support the success and well-being of our whaanau (extended family). We encourage everyone affiliated with Waikato-Tainui to register and create an account to access a range of grants and opportunities, contribute to our mahi (work), vote on tribal matters (for those 18 and over), and stay informed about tribal affairs. Rest assured, your information will be held securely and will not be shared externally without your consent.
We are dedicated to providing various forms of support for personal development, including grants, scholarships, and health assistance opportunities. Take the time to explore the range of grants, subsidies, scholarships, and health assistance currently available to tribal members.
As a tribe with a rich history and a growing population of over 80,000, we are proud voyagers and pioneers, just like our tuupuna (ancestors) before us. Our work is aligned with Whakatupuranga 2050, which encompasses five key areas: Hapori (community), Taiao (environment), Kaupapa (values), Whai Rawa (economic development), and Mahi Tonu (sustainability).
Throughout the year, Waikato-Tainui holds numerous events that celebrate our identity as Tainui waka (canoe) and as protectors of the Kiingitanga movement. We also keep you updated with the latest happenings within the tribe through our press releases and other media.
As an iwi (tribe), our most valuable possessions are the teachings passed down by our ancestors, known as taonga tuku iho. These teachings shape our values and guide our actions as we navigate the present and plan for the future.
We take pride in our entrepreneurial and innovative history, and we invite you to discover businesses in the Waikato region that are owned by our tribal members.
Thank you for visiting Hopuhopu Sports Park, where we are committed to supporting the success and well-being of our whaanau.

"Beautiful place very well looked after"
"Was here for Tainui Games. Had heaps of fun."
"Very good. Sports played today at this sports ground, netball, volleyball, indoor basketball, table tennis, power pulling, touch rugby. Good toilet facilities. Ample parking and space available for tents. Shaded areas on site. Buildings also on site, with toilets. Spaces available for food trucks and other stalls."
"Was there for the Tainui games. Plenty of parking and toilets placed all around. A few large trees provide much needed shade. Makes use of the grounds as a whole, you don't feel as though you are in a crowd."
"Was great to see some many children out on the field enjoying themselves"
