Magnolia Tree Childcare

Welcome to Magnolia Tree Childcare, located in the heart of Raglan Township, New Zealand. We are a privately owned and operated childcare centre, offering exceptional care and education for children aged three months to five years.

At Magnolia Tree Childcare, we understand that entrusting your precious children to the care of others is a significant step for any family. That's why we work closely with whānau (family) to ensure a loving and positive transition to early childhood education.

Our centre features two learning rooms, Anuhe and Pūrerehua, which are open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 5.30pm. In the Anuhe room, inspired by the work of Magda Gerber and Emmi Pikler, we implement a freedom of movement philosophy and a primary caregiving approach. Each child is assigned a whānau teacher who is dedicated to meeting their individual needs. The Anuhe learning environment is designed to be a home away from home, with loving touches and opportunities for exploration. Our spacious outdoor play space allows children to get muddy and connect with the natural world.

In the Pūrerehua room, we continue our whānau teaching model, where each child has a dedicated whānau teacher who supports their care and learning needs. We encourage children to be active learners, follow their interests, and choose their own learning directions. Our teachers intentionally extend the environment and provide meaningful learning opportunities. The Pūrerehua learning environment is child-centered, with a focus on free choice play. Our large outdoor playground provides ample space for running, jumping, biking, swinging, and getting a little muddy.
