Welcome to Northern Health School - Waikato Unit, located at 5 King Street in Hamilton, New Zealand. We also have a close relationship with the other two health schools in New Zealand, making our services national in scope.

In response to the recent Education Review Office review, we are pleased to share that it highlighted several positive areas of performance. The review recognized the hard work and dedication of our staff in supporting students and meeting their needs through individualized programs. It also commended our efforts in developing links with local communities and local Iwi, as well as our focus on staff development and increasing capabilities.

We are particularly proud of the emphasis placed on student well-being in the review. Our staff understands the importance of this area and it is integrated into our charter goals. We also ensure that the principal's performance appraisal is conducted in a timely manner and have implemented external contractors for this purpose. Additionally, we have updated policies mentioned in the report as part of our regular policy review cycle, ensuring a strong complaints policy framework and meeting procedure.

Reporting on student progress has always been a challenge for our school, considering the relatively short periods of time many students spend with us. However, we are actively working on implementing the Learning Progressions Framework to track student progress and analyze trends across various factors. This framework has already provided more detailed information for a larger number of students.
