Welcome to the Institute of Registered Music Teachers of New Zealand (IRMTNZ) | Ako Puoro! Located in Hamilton, on Hinau Street, our institution is a point of interest for all music enthusiasts in New Zealand.

As Aotearoa New Zealand's only professional organization for private music teachers, IRMTNZ was established by an Act of Parliament. We are dedicated to setting high standards for teaching and providing support to music teachers in building and maintaining successful practices for the benefit of themselves and their students.

Music is an integral part of our lives, and at IRMTNZ, we believe that anyone can learn to make music and experience its unique rewards. Our members are not only professionally qualified but also personally passionate about teaching people to make music with excellence. You can easily find a qualified music teacher on our website.

In addition to our commitment to teaching excellence, IRMTNZ also organizes regular national conferences featuring renowned presenters and excellent networking opportunities. We also offer a range of distance learning music teacher training courses to further enhance the skills of our members.
