Te Whai Toi Tangata Institute of Professional Learning is affiliated with the University of Waikato and has a long-standing reputation for excellence in professional development across the education sector. Our focus is on working with educational leaders, teachers, and Kāhui Ako to enhance their knowledge and practice.

Our team of facilitators possesses a diverse range of expertise, allowing us to create a comprehensive and tailored plan for educators and learners alike. We are guided by the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, which form the foundation of our work.

Whether you are an educator looking to make a difference, grow your knowledge and practice, or enhance your own education, we offer a wide range of professional learning opportunities. We collaborate with teachers and leaders in your specific setting to develop a personalized professional learning journey. This can be done through Ministry of Education (MoE) regionally allocated funding or self-funded professional learning and development (PLD).

Most of our workshops are conducted face-to-face, providing a personal and interactive learning experience. However, we also offer online series for added flexibility. Our accredited facilitators are dedicated to working collaboratively with leaders and teachers, ensuring that the PLD is co-constructed based on identified strengths and needs.

Additionally, our facilitators are well-versed in supporting the application process for regionally allocated PLD that aligns with the MoE PLD Priorities in both English and Māori Medium.
