Bryant Hall

Welcome to Bryant Hall, located at Hamilton, Knighton Road in New Zealand. Our institution is an establishment and point of interest, offering a university experience like no other. If you're planning to start your tertiary studies in 2024, applications will be open from 1 August, and we encourage you to apply by 30 September 2023 to ensure you are considered for your preferred hall.

At our Hamilton campus, we provide a range of accommodation options to cater to the diverse needs and lifestyles of our students. Whether you prefer the full support and community atmosphere of our halls of residence, or the independence and convenience of living in Silverdale apartments and Orchard Park, we have a room that will suit your needs.

When it comes to amenities, we've got you covered. Our catering services are designed to accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, and Halal options. However, please note that self-catered accommodation is not usually offered to school leavers. Exceptions may be made for students with severe dietary, disability, or medical needs, subject to availability and evidence provided.

Laundry facilities, including washing machines, dryers, and irons, are available in each hall on campus, and the cost is included in your weekly accommodation fees. Please note that paid parking applies to all cars parked on campus, including students living in the Halls. Limited reserved parking is available, and you can apply for it in January 2024. Alternatively, you can purchase a License to Hunt permit through the 'PayMyPark' app.

Applying for accommodation at Bryant Hall is easy and can be done online. You do not need to have been accepted into your study program to apply. For school leavers in 2022 or 2023 who will be starting their tertiary studies in 2024, we require a Common Confidential Reference Form (CCRF) from your school in addition to the online application. This form should be completed by a teacher, careers advisor, or principal and sent directly to us by the school. For other NZ students who left school prior to 2022, a character reference from someone like an employer, tutor, community leader, minister, or sports coach is required. International students who attended a NZ school in 2022 or 2023 also need to supply a CCRF.

To increase your chances of securing a room for 2024, we recommend applying early. If we receive your reference by 1 October 2023, you will be considered for a place in our first round of offers. However, please note that due to high demand, we may not be able to guarantee your preferred hall and may offer an alternative option.

We also offer scholarships that can help cover your accommodation costs. As a new student at the University of Waikato, you may be eligible for these scholarships. To find out more information and see if you qualify, please visit our website.

To accommodate every budget, we offer different payment plans and accommodation options. We understand that safety is paramount, which is why we have rules and regulations in place to ensure everyone's well-being while living on campus. Before accepting an offer, we encourage you to read and understand the details regarding your contract, deposit, rules, and regulations.

When accepting your contract to reside on campus, you are agreeing to abide by the rules and regulations, as well as the fees and costs outlined above. Before moving in, you will be required to pay five weeks' rent in advance, along with any optional extras. This payment is due in January 2024.
