Welcome to Forest Lake School! Located at 59 Storey Avenue in Hamilton, New Zealand, our school is a primary institution that is dedicated to providing a high-quality education to our students. As the proud leader of Forest Lake School for many years, I have witnessed our growth and commitment to excellence as educators.

At Forest Lake School, we believe in empowering our tamariki (children) to be the best that they can be and to rise to the challenge. Our motto, "Kawe Ake te Mānuka," reflects this philosophy. We are a close-knit Whānau (family) school, with second-generation tamariki returning to be educated here. The warm and welcoming atmosphere at our kura (school) creates a sense of belonging for all.

We offer two educational pathways for our tamariki: Total Immersion Māori (Rumaki) and English Medium (Auraki). Tikanga ā Iwi, the customs and practices of our people, is integrated into every aspect of our kura. This ensures that our tamariki develop a strong cultural foundation while also receiving a well-rounded education.

On our website, you can find updates from our Board of Trustees Presiding Chairperson, information about upcoming events such as our Cross Country and Fun Run Day, and details about our collaboration with a new Attendance Service. We also provide important announcements, such as the cancellation of the Winter Sports Exchange due to inclement weather.

We would like to express our gratitude to the parents who volunteer their time to support our school. Your contributions are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to more opportunities for sporting activities and events in the future.

For the parents of Kahikatea 1, Kahikatea 3, and Matai 5, we appreciate your understanding regarding staff shortages. All students can return to class as normal tomorrow.

Our Whānau / Kaiako Wānanga (Parent / Teacher Interviews) will be taking place on Tuesday, June 20th, and Wednesday, June 21st. To book a meeting with your child's kaiako (teacher), please click the link on our website and follow the prompts.

We kindly ask that you arrive promptly to the Wānanga and adhere to the allotted time slots. This ensures that every Whānau has the opportunity to have their allocated time as well.

Lastly, our term dates for the current year are from Wednesday, February 1st to Thursday, April 6th.
