Pukete School

Welcome to Pukete School, a vibrant and inclusive community located in Hamilton, New Zealand. Our vision is to create a nurturing environment where confident critical thinkers can thrive and become open-minded, motivated, and socially responsible individuals. We believe that our students should be equipped to contribute to and succeed in our ever-changing world.

At Pukete School, we have five dedicated teaching teams who work collaboratively to plan and deliver engaging lessons. Our teachers and learning assistants are committed to ensuring that every child receives a quality education and is supported in their learning journey.

When your child joins Pukete School, they will begin their academic journey in the Tui team, which consists of four classes at the start of the year. The Kiwi team is focused on developing literacy and numeracy skills for Year 1 and 2 learners. The Kea team is a close-knit group that values collaboration and sharing their areas of interest and expertise. The Kakapo team is dedicated to providing exciting learning experiences for Year 4 students. Our aim is to prepare our Year 5/6 students for intermediate school while instilling the importance of being a good citizen.

We have developed a graduate profile that focuses on the virtues that form the foundation of our school. These virtues shape the characteristics and values that children will develop and grow during their time at Pukete School.

We understand the importance of keeping parents informed, and we strive to provide all necessary information to ensure the smooth running of our school. We encourage parents to stay connected through our communication channels.

Our school day starts at 8.55 a.m. and finishes at 3.00 p.m. To ensure the safety of our students, we kindly request that children do not arrive at school before 8.30 a.m. Students are to wait at the main entrance until the 8.30 a.m. bell rings.

For your convenience, we have provided the term dates for the upcoming year:

- Term 1 2023: 7th February - 6th April

- Term 2 2023: 24th April - 30th June

- Term 3 2023: 17th July - 22nd September

- Term 4 2023: 9th October - 20th December
