Gordonton School
About the Business
Welcome to Gordonton School, a thriving establishment located in Gordonton, Woodlands Road, New Zealand. As a primary school, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
At Gordonton School, we hold high expectations for both learning and behavior. Our school values of Manaakitanga, Awhina, Ngakau Pono, and Ako underpin our commitment to creating a caring and positive atmosphere. We believe in forming strong relationships with our students, ensuring they feel safe to be challenged and take risks. Goal setting is an integral part of our learning process, and we celebrate the progress and success of our students on a daily basis.
Our primary aim is to empower our students to become confident, connected, and actively involved lifelong learners. By the time they leave our school after year 8, we want them to be fully prepared for their secondary school journey. We take great pride in leading and being part of a fantastic school community that is dedicated to creating a 21st-century learning environment that equips our children for the future.
At Gordonton School, we value the involvement of parents and whanau in their child's education. We believe that when parents and teachers work together as partners, we can achieve so much more. We have a close-knit parent community and strong links with Ngāti Wairere, the Tangata Whenua at Hukanui Marae.
Situated on the outskirts of Hamilton, the fourth-largest metropolitan city in Aotearoa, Gordonton School provides a mid-sized, full-primary education in a rural setting. Our dedicated team of professional educators is committed to putting our children at the center of everything we do. We strive to offer a diverse range of academic, cultural, and sporting experiences, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to participate and achieve success in various areas.
Please note that Gordonton School operates under an enrolment scheme. To check if you are within our zone, please visit our website. We also welcome international students and are a signatory to the International Code of Practice. Our Board employs a qualified teacher/tutor to assist these students and other English Second Language students in their English language development.
For your convenience, we offer SKIDS (after-school care) services, which can be reached at 027 303 9242 or through their website. "Really awesome little country school. Good sporting and educational facilities and always smiles on children's faces. They have excellent outdoor activities too over the school year and offer lots of events over the year at their school hall and fields."
