Welcome to Cumberland Early Education Waikato, located on Borman Road in Hamilton, New Zealand. Our institution is a point of interest and a school that offers high-quality education and childcare services.

At Cumberland, we have a team of qualified and passionate teachers who are dedicated to providing the best learning experience for your child. Our spacious outdoor areas allow children to explore and engage in physical activities, fostering their development and growth.

We offer a transition to school program that prepares your child for the next step in their educational journey. Additionally, we provide 20 ECE (Early Childhood Education) hours each week, ensuring that your child receives ample learning opportunities.

Our brand-new, modern purpose-built center features five individual rooms, catering to children at different developmental levels. The Kakapo Room is designed for infants aged 3 months to 15 months, while the Pukeko Room is for children aged 15 months to 2 years. The Kereru Room is dedicated to children aged 2 years to 3 years, and the Tui Room is for children aged 3 years to 4 years. Lastly, the Kiwi Room is designed for children aged 4 years to school age.

At Cumberland, we follow the early childhood curriculum and carefully plan programs that promote competency, confidence, and success in learning. Our teachers provide learning extensions in various areas such as numeracy, literacy, nature and science, computers and technology, puzzles and games, creative arts, and more.

We believe in creating a supportive and inclusive environment where children can build friendships and learn together. Our daily mat time sessions allow children to share information, stories, songs, and engage in movement, drama, and waiata (traditional Maori songs).

For our youngest learners, we have primary caregivers who follow their unique routines, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Our operating hours are Monday to Friday from 7.15am to 5.45pm, with a full day session running from 7.30am to 5.30pm. Limited spaces are available for an additional 15 minutes before and after the full day session, subject to an extra charge.

Our daily schedule is designed to provide a balanced and engaging experience for your child. We start the day with welcoming children and their families, followed by child-led learning activities. Mat time hui (gatherings) take place at 9.15am and 11.15am, where children engage in group activities and discussions. We provide morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea, ensuring that your child receives nutritious meals throughout the day. Sleep or rest time is provided for non-sleepers in the afternoon.

We also offer light snacks in the late afternoon before saying farewell to the children at 5.30pm.
