About the Business
Welcome to Surrey Park Swimming, one of the oldest swimming clubs in Australia, established in 1904. Located in Box Hill South on Middleborough Road, Surrey Park Swimming is a renowned establishment and a point of interest for swimming enthusiasts.
At Surrey Park Swimming, we believe that correct stroke technique is vital, but we also understand that children learn best when they are in a nurturing and engaging environment. With our low student ratios, qualified swim instructors, and commitment to continual training, we ensure that children have fun while learning to swim.
Choose between our two locations in the eastern suburbs: Blackburn Learn to Swim Centre and Aqualink Box Hill. At Blackburn Learn to Swim Centre, you can experience the difference of swimming in mineral-based saltwater, which is great for those with skin conditions or those who want to reduce exposure to chemicals. At Aqualink Box Hill, you can enjoy aquatic play spaces for free on the day of your lesson.
We are proud to run the CAPS program, where we donate money from every lesson to provide swimming lessons to newly arrived migrants, students with disabilities, and financially disadvantaged families. Additionally, we spread the importance of water safety through free talks to kindergartens and schools.
Our Learn to Swim program seamlessly transitions into our Club Squad program, led by our Head Coach Justin Bell. The Club Squad program caters to swimmers of all levels and abilities, from junior development to high-performance level.
For our youngest swimmers, we have specially trained infant teachers who focus on water familiarization and building confidence through songs and repetition. Our progressive learn to swim program teaches children how to swim and be safe around water, a skill they will have for life.
We understand the importance of having fun and being comfortable in swimming lessons, which is why we offer teen grouped classes where children can swim with peers their own age. Whether you are a complete beginner or someone looking to refine your stroke technique, from 18-year-olds to 70-year-olds, you are never too old to learn to swim.
If your child requires special needs, we cater to a wide variety of abilities and offer capped classes or private lessons. We also introduce swim training, focusing on distance, strength, and fitness, which forms one of the pathways to competitive swimming.
In addition to our swimming programs, we also offer a fun beginner dive program where we introduce skills like dives, twists, tucks, and somersaults, providing a great introduction to the sport of diving.
For those with busy schedules, our intensive programs are a fantastic way to introduce your child to swimming, fast-track their progress, or accommodate lessons outside of term time.
We are proud to offer a learn to swim and aquatic program for schools and communities in our local area, promoting water safety and enjoyment for all.
Operating hours vary between our locations. Aqualink Box Hill is open on weekdays from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Sundays from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Box Hill South/Blackburn is open on weekdays from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, and closed on Sundays. "Great place for swimming lessons, private pool, warm mineral salt water, low chlorine, amazing staff. The new centre looks amazing, its far from the backyard pool in a factory look that you often see, its a full size 25m pool with a seperate viewing area."
