About the Business
Welcome to Kame House, a hidden gem located in Gordon, Australia. As an establishment, food, point of interest, and restaurant, we pride ourselves on offering a unique and unforgettable dining experience.
At Kame House, we invite you to take the time to savor Chef Tomo's one-of-a-kind and limited creations. From his delicious Kaisendon, Chirashi, and other sets, to the upcoming unique Omakase concept called Okonomi, our menu is filled with culinary delights that will leave you wanting more.
Rice is an essential foundation of each meal, and we take it seriously. We go to great lengths to ensure the excellence of our rice. Our unique rice blend is exclusively curated for us and imported directly from Japan in refrigerated containers, maintaining the same high standards as in Japan. To further enhance the quality, we cook all of our rice in small batches with soft and purified water.
Working in collaboration with his daughter, Chef Tomo crafted exquisite Chirashi boxes influenced and inspired by her drawings during a nationwide COVID lockdown. These beautiful boxed dishes were created to uplift customers through difficult times and provide an unforgettable eating experience in the comfort of their own homes. The overwhelming response led to the establishment of Kame House, where you can now indulge in our Japanese Artisanal Kaisendon experience.
Located in Gordon, our tiny restaurant offers mouthwatering dishes crafted with the best ingredients and innovative concepts. Our artisanal kaisendons are made with a special rice blend imported directly from Japan, topped with the freshest seafood. We take extra measures to ensure that all ingredients are of the highest quality, so you can enjoy a delicious bowl every time.
Don't miss out on Chef Tomo's signature chirashi, which features two layers of the finest seafood. The middle layer is filled with diced pieces, while the top is beautifully designed with different chequerboard patterns. It's a feast for the eyes and the taste buds.
And if you're looking for a unique dining adventure, try our Okonomi concept. You get to choose your own adventure and venture at your own pace, all while being served by Sushi Master, Chef Tomo himself.

Reviews
"The food here is delicious and the atmosphere is great. The staff are attentive and friendly. The only downside is that the food is a little expensive, but otherwise, I would highly recommend people to eat here."
"Bright restaurant comfortable seating food fantastic presentation but taste is sad to say average. Nothing pops out at you that says wow! But I suppose if one is hungry can’t be too choosy. Size of dishes is good. Sake and alcohol available."
"I came by this place by accident, and came to become one of my favourite Japanese restaurants. It's a small cozy place with limited seats, but the food is fantastic. The price was on the higher side, but the ingredients were fresh and high quality. The waitress was friendly and would recommend it for special occasions."
"The sashimi was very fresh and the flavouring was on point - no extra soy sauce needed. Will definitely return to try the other dishes. I ordered the kaisen don and the chirashi. The complementary side dishes were delicious."
"A great new addition to the North Shore dining scene. The space is modern and welcoming and well insulated from the adjacent highway noise. Seating options range from comfortable booths through to kitchen side stools. The staff are friendly and the service unrushed. The food is beautifully presented and meticulously chosen. This is not your usual Japanese local; don't expect a sushi train experience here. All options come with side dishes and dessert. The flavours are subtle in the truest Japanese tradition. There is plenty of Sake to choose from but also a good wine list and great Japanese beer on tap."
