"Stayed for my Wife's birthday. Great location. 10/15 minute walk to the river front and canary wharf. Staff were lovely. The room was great, quiet too. The design of the place is eclectic. Well worth a visit."
"This hotel was beyond what I could have imagined. It was very clear from the outset that this was a passion project with no expense spared. Every room seemed to have been decorated beautifully and I could tell that love and culture was in every single room. It made me happy being there. It’s homely and like a museum at the same time. Leo Tolstoy’s room was my personal favourite but the marble Turkish bath, the rooftop terrace, the restaurant…were all decorated to perfection. The place literally brings history back to life. Full of energy and a Happy place in East London. I highly recommend it."
"Had a very good stay for 3 nights in this hotel with my wife. Location is good. The area is not uptown London but we felt good there when walking in the area. You are in 5 minutes walk at Limehouse station, that takes you in 5-10 minutes to Bank. The outside of the hotel is really magnificent. A pearl in the area. Inside it's even better. Just look at the restaurant; only looking at all the flowers and plants that are in there shows the passion of the personal to me."
"This hotel is absolutely stunning! There are still books everywhere, which made me very happy, and I love that each room is themed after an author or influential person. It's so nice to see an old building kept, and enough updated touches added to make it a luxurious stay. There is so much art and knick knacks scattered about you could explore for hours. Breakfast is also an experience, being laid out on a large counter top decorated with plants and ornaments, and a wide range of interesting food to try, as well as the standard breakfast items. Air con keeps the room comfortable, and the handmade basin in the bathroom is a really lovely touch. Although it is now a hotel, there is still some feel of a library to it, which makes it a home away from home for me. I'd would love to stay again, and soon."
"Beautifully designed hotel, we had a Superior room which was compact in size but with excellent, new bathroom. The staff are very attentive and approachable. Every room is unique and inspired by a historical figure, we indicated a room preference when making the booking but were given another room, it didn’t seem they had noted the request and couldn’t change it when we asked as the hotel was fully booked. We were very satisfied nonetheless and wouldn’t think twice to come back here."
