Budget Car Rental

"Worst experience ever. A little background...we planned a 3 day trip and planned to rent a car. Our car needed some maintenance, so we would drop it at the dealer and take a short walk to Budget and pick-up the rental. All arrangements were made and confirmed back in May. The day of, I drop off the car and walk to Budget. They have no cars and are unable to get any. They tried to message me about that just after I received an email that they were looking forward to seeing me and wishing me an enjoyable trip. I never saw the message.. .obviously. So their solution.....some how get to another Budget location 17 miles away. Heaven forbid they could come to me. Luckily I got a ride and picked up the car. Unfortunately, now I have to return the car to that same location. Just another annoying inconvenience on top of all the others. Way to go Budget. What an interesting way to treat the customer."

"I made a reservation for a car here twice (way in advance). Both times, I was called the day before and told they would not have a car ready for me and to look somewhere else."

"I fully prepaid my vehicle from 9/13-9/17. When I arrived the vehicle was already rented. My estimated arrival time was 12:00 pm and I arrived at 1:45 pm due to traffic and a medical appointment running a little long. I attempted to call the location at 12:07 pm and there was no answer. In town for chemo and several other appts (and in a bind) I asked if there was anything else. I ended up taking a DIRTY Toyota Camry out of sheer desperation. There was no financial accommodations or price adjustments for a such a huge downgrade (PREPAID SUV vs TOYOTA CAMRY). Not to mention the inconvenience. I feel like since the car was fully prepaid well in advance (and I wouldn't have been refunded had I cancelled) this was totally unacceptable - well beyond an inconvenience. Since I have to travel from FL to Cincinnati 3-4 times a year for medical reasons it is imperative that I use a vendor I can rely on for a clean safe vehicle and if I paid in advance that the vehicle be there - neither which I got. While I liked the gentleman who was working the counter - it isn't enough to offset what occurred and don't feel as if I can trust the BUDGET brand and should probably go back to renting through Hertz or Enterprise. BE ADVISED!"

"Booked my reservation 3 days prior for the date I needed it for. Showed up and was told there were no compact cars he only had full size. I said that’s ok, you’ll just give us the full size for the same price right? He says absolutely not. He offered me no solutions to HIS problem. He was rude and unaccommodating. Went to the location down at 9305 Montgomery and received wonderful service. Save yourself the hassle and don’t book at the Hosbrook location!"

"We will never utilize Budget Car Rental again. We booked a large SUV through Budget Car Rental in July 2020 for an October 2020 trip, nearly three months in advance. We never rent cars but because of an amazing discount we received, we were able to book the SUV for $250 (Tuesday-Monday). We were set to pick up the SUV at 9:30am. At 8:00am, 1.5 hours before pick-up, we received a call from the Kenwood location that the car would not be ready today and we would need to call their scheduling department to locate another vehicle. In switching to another location, we were informed that our discount no longer applied and we would have to go with the best rates for today. The best rate we would received for today was $608. That is over double what we originally booked the car for, and one hour prior to pick-up. After 1 hour on the phone between the scheduling department and the customer service department, no one was able to honor our discount booked in July. They were not willing to meet in the middle, offer any compensation, or work with us at all. They simply said, we could change locations to find a new vehicle and pay today's rates. We didn't choose to change locations or seek out of a different vehicle. It was Budget's mistake and their responsibility to honor the rate we booked at 2.5 months ago. In the end, we cancelled the reservation because we could no longer afford the $608 rate for today versus the $250 we originally booked at. If you need a reliable booking service who will have a car ready on the agreed upon date for the agreed upon price, I would never consider Budget Car Rental. We are extremely disappointed with our experience and will ensure our family/friends do not utilize Budget car rental in the future."
