"Do not rent from these people. They are extremely unprofessional and RUDE. I was renting an apartment with my boyfriend at the time and another roommate. The place was spacious but you can tell it was poor quality. The doors kept getting stuck, there was a huge leak in the ceiling our first week, and the neighbors are extremely loud. A few months into the lease, my ex and I broke up and we discussed our options of having him and the roommate take over the lease. Julie Rowe, our leasing agent, absolutely freaked out on me saying that she could not believe this was happening and that she had never had a tenant ask to move out and be taken off the lease before. I find this hard to believe as she seems to have been in the business for many years. I understand that it’s quite inconvenient for a tenant to move out, but Julie was the most unprofessional person I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Julie asked inappropriate questions about my relationship, and suggested we just ‘work things out’. I was in disbelief at the audacity for her to place her opinion on my relationship and my comfort level of living in such a terrible situation. After making my case with her, she allowed my two roommates to reapply for the apartment so they could qualify to take over the lease. After a few days she emailed me to say she would allow it and I felt temporary relief that I could finally move out and secure a much more comfortable living space away from the tense environment I shared with an EX. However, that did not happen. Julie lacks proper communication and empathy. I drafted an amendment to remove me from the lease so that my ex and our roommate could take it over, and I applied for a new apartment. Julie, again, freaked out on me and sent me a truly nasty email saying she wouldn’t let me off the lease even though she had previously approved it. The apartment I had applied for was not going to allow me to live there while on another lease, but after I showed them the emails from Julie and how difficult she is to work with, they understood my situation and approved me with a cosigner. Again, I understand that tenants should definitely try and finish out their lease, but unfortunately life does NOT always go according to plan and things do change. This company has no sense of empathy or willingness to understand complicated situations nor are they helpful in any way. I suggest NEVER renting from these people unless you want to be belittled."
