"My experience here was absolutely awful! For starters, as soon as I walked in the door, the staff were cold and somewhat creepy. Especially a man, who kept staring at me and the person I came with. We looked around for awhile, and were very disappointed by the lack of variety in the books. Before it was renovated, the library here had a much bigger selection. Far Rockaway community members have waited years for a new library, and this is honestly such a letdown. Another thing I noticed was the smell of PISS! When I sat down, I noticed the whole area had a sharp, sour smell to it which just ruined the experience for me and my friend. Some of the books were sticky and in poor shape, with weird stains, which is just not something that needs to be in ANY library, especially not a new one. Overall, my time here was wasted in this library, run by rude, creepy people who don't care about their community and the library that we've waited so long to open. 0/5 stars!"

"Wow. Just, incredible. This state of the art library is now opened and is the most beautiful space imaginable. Growing up I couldn’t have imagined such an inspiring building in downtown Far Rockaway. We deserve this. I can’t wait to see it become the new heartbeat of this community."

"QPL doing well in their interim branch in 2 storefronts down the street from a beautiful large branch about to open summer of 2024."

"Hours are incorrect. You might find one worker that is willing to help you. Usually it’s the worker near the fax machine. The people at the front desk just ignore you and scoff at you if you ask for help. Truly the worst library I’ve ever been to. Fights break out in the front, people’s property gets stolen from the library, it’s just bad all around. This is why the youths nowadays don’t have anywhere safe to go."
