"Mayor Adam shall not cut the budget for library systems! My kids love to stay here , watch them reading picture books, animal books and play with other kids. I can not imagine if this beautiful place will shut down at weekends! It’s can’t be acceptable!——————————!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"I’ve been to a lot of story times with my toddler but this one was by far the best. Ms. Lucy was so kind and fun and let the kids explore. She let the kids be kids & watched them closely to ensure their safety. She read books & had music time with instruments like shaker eggs, drums and tambourines. She blew bubbles which all kids big & small as well as some caregivers enjoyed too! Everyone got a turn and then there was playtime. The variety of toys is great and is good for little ones and toddlers. I would highly recommend and will be back again!"
"I’ve been coming to this branch for 12 years now and have always had good experiences. The lady on the multi-media desk, the lady with strawberry blonde hair and the very petite lady with glasses at the central desk are always very friendly, helpful, polite. However, the library’s response to public safety is appalling. I was trying to find books to teach a class and some guy sleeping in front of the shelf just starts randomly cussing and getting abusive for no reason. There are two security guards but what do they do? Nothing except ask the patron to leave citing “please stay away, he has already assaulted someone else he has some mental problem”. I had to ask the staff to go and retrieve the item I needed instead. Wait what? If a person is in a shared, public space and is not reading, studying, looking for books but is instead threatening other patrons, you ask THEM to vacate the premises not the person minding their own business looking for a standard middle-school History book. I usually bring my adult learners here to show them how to get an ID, library card, resources for citizenship and immigration help in addition to ESL learning books and material. I won’t be able to do that any more since I can’t guarantee their safety. Why pay city taxes if one has no right to use public facilities in peace? A person has a right to defend themselves when using the library where the staff hired for that purpose refuse to. You can remove iconic buildings from a city but not protect a library patron from checking out a book free from unprovoked abuse and threats of physical harm? Seems legit. Cowardice much?"
"I went to return a book in the book drop on the outside of the library attached to the building. I enter the library to have a look around at 12:30 pm. The person at the desk was very friendly and he answered all of my questions. He got up and showed me the fax machine. It’s ten cents per page. I had no idea that they had one. The library was very quiet and peaceful. Also neat and very organized."
"Was so noisy. Children are running around. As you see in the picture they were playing war games on the computer. People are watching a movie without headphones. Also, I couldn't find the output for my personal computer. I left there"
