"Just had bypass 1/19/23 so it’s all still new to me, but every part Ive gone through so far has been with nothing short of professionalism and kindness. The 6+ months prior to surgery was great. Every dr, nurse, specialist and the surgeon (Dr. Aminian) was great. But as a patient, you must commit to the process, because it’s A LoT of appointments, and the are very important you don’t miss them. Fast forward to surgery (4 days ago at this point) and although it was obviously quite painful, the post surgery nurses, drs and staff were also excellent. I was at main campus. It was so clean. I never felt like they were annoyed by my questions, tended to every need or pain I had. All in all, great experience (minus the obvious factor that it was surgery and hurts!) Thanks for giving me a second chance at living a healthier life with this new tool you’ve given me."

"Not deserving of one star. My daughter went through this. First off they were delayed over 5 hours doing the surgery, then they put her on a non-bariatric unit after surgery and the nurse did not understand her condition and wanted to argue with her. There has been absolutely no follow-up on how she needs to proceed, how she is doing, what the next steps are since the surgery other than a brief video visit with the surgeon. My daughter has fallen into a deep depression and she tried reaching out to them a couple of days ago, but feels so defeated and like it won't help to make inquiries given what happened in the hospital. I feel it is not her place to make inquiries The Cleveland Clinic should be following up with her, she should have ongoing support post surgery. I have had friends who went to Cincinnati and other places and had this surgery and they experience was very positive. So sad that Cleveland Clinic is not living up to the standards of other lesser known hospitals. In my opinion your money for this surgery is better spent at a hospital who is just as concerned about their patients after the surgery and provide ongoing support."

"Not deserving of 1 star. This program only cares about the $$money$$. God forbid that you end up with a complication like I am dealing with, and by the way they are not truthful about the amount of complications they have. I have ZERO quality of life! Their post op care is non existent. Precious time was wasted as surgeon kept guessing why I was having problems, and when they would cease. This is the first time in my life that I am scared that I might die from a medical issue that I did as an elective. RUN from this facility/program. They are not "world renowned " for this program that is for certain. Also think, and rethink having a surgery. There are new medicines available. And for those reviews who were upset that communication was lacking or delaying their surgery...COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!! Take it as a sign, and move on."

"I had my first weightloss surgery consult October 2021 with Dr Cetin. Started my 6 months of requirements as requested by my insurance. Finally finished all requirements in July 2022. Since then it's been nothing but a battle. My Patient Navigator has been nothing but a pain and very poor communication. Would not return emails or messages. 1st denial was because one single test was missing. 2nd denial was because the test they asked for was not received again. 3rd time I was told she talked with insurance and resent paperwork. I called my insurance to verify and nothing was received. I contacted someone else using My Chart. And was told the denied it 3rd time. And peer to peer is last option. I had to send multiple messages to numerous people throughout this whole process because my Navigator would not respond to emails. I had to call my insurance to verify multiple times if paperwork was received. There was a time when she asked me for the fax number to my insurance company. Seriously? I feel she either doesn't care about her job, is incompetent or just purposely sabotages people's chances. She doesn't gather proper information needed for insurance. I found myself sending her information. Isn't that her job? Now the Dr wants to see me before continuing with weightloss surgery. Why? Havent even got an insurance approval. I did everything as requested. And December is the next available to see him. It's been an entire year! A waste of time! Nothing but stress and bs! I'm looking into other options because the Cleveland Clinic Bariatric Institute is ridiculous! So if you're thinking about it! Avoid them! Research other options or be prepared to possibly waste time like I did."

"Same as Tinkerbell. The financial advisor doesn’t return calls. So you can’t ever get anywhere, even if the surgeons want to do surgery. Somebody in the waiting room a few weeks ago was complaining about her, too. Seems like they need a replacement with somebody who wants to do their job. Also, I did the seminar and was told I would be contacted within a couple of weeks- and it’s been 3 months now. Waste of time. You are only a number here. The rest of my Cleveland clinic experience has been great though."
