"After receiving results from IHC Sleep Clinic, and no one calling me back, I decided to take advantage of the promo being offered over the KSL Movie Show, for a free screening and consult with Sound Sleep Medical, as a back up. SSM had me pick up the initial screening test kit from their office, then I was able to return it and meet with someone the very next day to review the results on a Summary Report. It was awesome because the Summary was loaded with great information and they saw me the very next day!!! I met with Russ McIllece, and he reviewed each part of my detailed Summary Report, and had a nice visual aid in his office, that helped explain AND show me what the apnea terminology and results meant. There are 6 categories of "Respiratory and Snoring Events" that are calculated, among other things. After reviewing the information, I did not qualify for their mouthpiece, but had a more severe case where I needed to use a CPAP, unfortunately. But I now understand why and am heading right back over to IHC to take care of that. I really appreciate that I could call SSM and get a second opinion so quickly! Literally, within a week of when I called. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, but big shout out, especially, to Russ, for helping me out. He is so knowledgeable and I appreciate that he was honest and didn't try to sell me something that wasn't going to work. He truly cares about every person hes sees and wants to genuinely help them to optimize their health, by lowering risk factors (caused by sleep apnea), and get a good night's sleep. Plus his personality is so kind-takes one look at my rest results and says, in a good natured way, "Are you so completely exhausted all the time?...How are you here?" Which totally validated the fact that I AM exhausted all the time (and not lazy, haha)! He could see it on my screening that I am not getting rest. I highly recommend coming here. Even for someone like me, where a second opinion and some peace of mind was needed, to continue following up with my own health care providers. SSM is quick to respond and they work with insurance companies so you don't have to. The sleep kit isn't super invasive and you take it at home, and are given important information and a quick follow up visit. Definitely recommend requesting Russ McIllece at the Murray Office.
